Is it fair that my account gets suspended but a trolls doesnt?

I was doing the usual playing ark minding my own business. I went for dinner. I came back from dinner to realise that some of my dinos were missing I checked the tribe log to see that 3 of my dinos had been killed due to someone attacking them and making
them run towards them, the dinos killed him and he kept asking me to give him his stuff back even though I didn't have it. At this time my friend was with me and he was trying to tell me he was a troll( I should have listened ), the person who died then started
to threaten me saying he was gonna bring dinos to my server to destroy me because he still didn't believe that I didn't have his stuff. He then left me alone for a while. He messaged me back later on in the day saying he had replacements for the dinos he had
killed ( It was a lie ) He then asked if I could help him replace what he had lost and because I am a nice person I agreed to help him. I spend about 1-2 Hours helping him get everything back. He then asked if he could use my raptor which took a LONG TIME
TO TAME AND BREED, I said he could he then ran to a drop and uploaded the dinosaur which means he now has it and I cant ever see it again and all the time I spent on it was all for nothing as now he probs has full ownership of it. Because of this I sent him
a message which contained a swear word I know that I shouldn't have done that but I was angry he then clearly reported me and got me a week ban. This is so unfair because if I was to report him nothing would have happened and now a troll is able to be free
probably ruining the fun for everyone else whilst I have to wait for a week knowing that all my progress has been for nothing as most of all my dinosaurs are going to die and I will probably get raided. Its just sad really.

@Goatsnatcher fair enough im just saying because it gets thrown around here all the time about silver troll acounts. And they do exist but they are 0 GS accounts made to troll.

They same thing happens on the PS forums but nobody there ever says ohh your just a non PS+ troll they just call them what they are trolls.

 

It doesn't matter how a situation starts. If you respond in a way that violates the code of conduct (which you did), you can be punished. In situations like that it's best to just report the other person and block communications with them.

 

Why do you think that nothing would happen if you reported him?

As you experienced for yourself, every report is being reviewed by a real human being on the Enforcment Team, and if you reported a message that violated the Xbox Live Code of Conduct, that other person would be suspended as well.

So in the future: Don't give anyone a reason to report your message, by not using swear words or other offensive content. Instead, simply report messages you find offensive, and block that person.
