Is it bad to leave a disc inside my Xbox One while it's off?

I really want to take care of my console, but it's starting to get really annoying having to put the disc in and then taking it out after every time I play. So is it OK to leave the disc inside the system when I turn it off?

I have my Xbox 360 console turned off and left my game disc inside onn the disc tray. it's inside the console but turned off, is it ok to leave the game inside the console with the console turned off?

^It won't do anything if you leave the disc inside the console 24/7. Me and my friend both have done this for 3 years, nothing. Basically you just reduce the risk of forgetting the disc inside the console while you actually move it around. If your console
is in one spot for the rest of its life, nothing will happen. Especially if it's on horizontal position.

Yet I already know that my personal take on this subject falls in the minority.

 

It's perfectly fine to leave a disc in the drive as long as you don't move your xbox.

 

I imagine putting a disc in will continue to be annoying unless you own 1 game.
It sounds like you need to go digital.

 

Not a good idea to leave a disc on any electronic devices that plays dics (consoles,dvd players,ect...)

 

I have to agree with Goth, if it bothers you so much digital is the way to go. Then you will never need to swap discs ever again.

 

Forza 5 has been in my drive practically since I bought it... it should be fine.

On another note. If you go digital, and something happens later in life. (Example: U decide to sell your console.)

You've lost the value of your games which may in fact have helped to sell your console. So keep that in mind when making decisions.

 

I don't have any disks for my xbox one.

 

It's fine to leave the disc in. Just don't pick up your console and shake it....

I always leave my discs in my consoles and have NEVER ever had a single problem. Not a single scratched disc ever in my life or any issues with discs. As long as nothing is hitting your console or bumping into it you should be fine. Of course now that
I have said this, it will probably happen.

 

I couldn't say myself, obviously like others here have mentioned, wouldn't be good to move your console with a disc still inside.

I did post a while back that in a phone conversation with Xbox Support, I asked the guy about leaving a disc in the machine when shutting down and his reply was ... "I wouldn't recommend it" .. now he could have just meant like what has been said, wouldn't
be good if it got knocked/move the console or if there's another reason why? I wish I would have asked lol

I'm mainly digital now but any discs I have are always taken out before shutting down, having said that I know quite a few friends that leave discs in and I've never heard of any of them having issues.

 

Titanfall hasn't left my console since it released. You will be fine leaving it in as long as you don't move it around.
