Is it against Xbox Live policies to impersonate an Xbox Developer?

Today I received a message from an Xbox Live user with the gamer tag ITSDEVABOVE. This user sent me a message stating that he or she, “was a Developer, and that I should respect all players or I would be banned.” I understand that this person was more than
likely just a salty gamer. However, I would just like some clarification on if this person was correct and my account is now “marked”, and possibly in the future banned? I sent a message to the “dev” asked them to explain how I had disrespected any of the
players. They have not responded as of yet.

This rule is not stressed enough, Posting gamertags is against the rules of the forms as what Daft Badger and Dec3D said before me. DO NOT give out any information to anyone! Only to Xbox Staff or Support if necessary! What these people on Xbox LIVE are
trying to do is impersonate an Enforcer just bully your son. This happens all the time. Never fall for this.

Impersonating a member of staff has always been against policy and has had an outcome of permanent suspension....

So banning occurs when violation of policy occurs... I mean they're doing their job...

block communications.

It's also against forum policy to 'name and shame', the only way for the user to be reported is to file a complaint as mentioned. That person clearly isn't an Xbox rep and impersonating one is a violation of the Service.

A moderator will not ban you from xbox live. Moderators are the ones who moderate the forums. The Policy Enforcement Team are the ones who hand out bans. They don't send snide comments, they just do it. If you get a message from someone stating that
they are going to report you because they are working for MS, file a report against them and move on. It's more likely they will get banned for impersonating MS.
