How can it be acceptable that a giant such as Mircosoft just stops making an adapter for the White xbox one to connect it with the Kinnect????

Kinect adapter for Xbox One S

I'm from Canada and I bought a Xbox One S 2To at launch day and I bought a Kinect for Xbox One yesterday. I just realised that the Kinect adapter for Xbox one S I not available anywhere now in my country and even in US. I saw some auctions on eBay for an
higher price than the MSRP but I don't want to get scam or encourage scalpers. Is it possible to know if Microsoft gonna restock more adapter in the future or they are already done with the manufacturing of that product. Im not elligible for the free adapter
promotion since it's my first Xbox one. I willing to pay the full retail price even if I already bought the prime version of the One S and an elite controller. Feel like I got the short end of the stick here.

Duh. They didn't make them to throw away. lol

They've quit production of them. (pretty much what this thread is about)

 

All manufacturers stop the production of products when they are no longer financially viable, get over it.

 

How dare Microsoft just up and stop producing/selling the zune media player....

 

It's bad that they did such a thing. Soon they'll likely stop manufacturing the original/normal [fat] Xbox One console and only sell the slim. I have the Xbox One day one edition, and Xbox One X console. I have to keep my day one edition console in order
to use Kinect. Even though I don't use Kinect much, you can use it for several things.

- Console video chat with friends.

- QR code reader, instead of having to type in accurately the first time round, a 25 character key.

- Voice chat and send voice messages.

- Sign in securely without typing in a pin or password.

Microsoft used to sell the adapter for RRP NZ$58. Places that still sell them are amazon but those sellers wont ship to Australia and NZ, and if they do, they charge 10x above the normal RRP of the adaptor, for example EBay is the only seller in Australia/NZ
that does it, but they do it for AU$500. It has become an antique so much so sellers are having a laugh by offering it for ridiculously high prices. This is why I've had to keep my day one console and Kinect in storage in my wardrobe, so that when I want to
use it again, I can.

Microsoft didn't manufacture enough of them. That's why places are running out within days of them stopping the manufacturing process, and then you get customers who complain - TH.

It will be hard to accept at first, but you'll adapt to the situation just as I have.

 

Of course it's not acceptable. What they should have done is made sure people who upgraded to an Xbox One X had plenty of chance to get one.

They're STILL advertising it as compatible with all of your existing Xbox One accessories on the product page, with smallprint that says an adapter is required to use a Kinect, which they describe as "sold separately" despite the fact that they've discontinued
it.

It's anti-consumer, but it's not the first time MS has been anti-consumer and it won't be the last either.

I absolutely love this forum sometimes, every lunchtime I come on here and read some truly amazing comments from people.

For example.

I'll give you a hint, the person is complaining about Microsoft not selling the Kinect adapter, but then in the same post he says "Even though I don't use Kinect much"

To all the people complaining about Microsoft not making/selling the adapter, where were you when these forums were filled with post after post from people complaining about "how terrible it is the Xbox One is sold with Kinect" or "why cant the Xbox One
work without the Kinect plugged in?"

At the end of the day, the people you should be complaining to are the people in the gaming community who didn't buy the Xbox One because it only came with Kinect.

And once again, someone tries to shift the blame to the consumer, instead of Microsoft. Look at this nonsense - you should apparently be complaining to the people who didn't want what they considered to be a useless peripheral bundled in with their
console, not the company that tried to force that peripheral on every single Xbox user. MS didn't make a mistake, oh no! It was the consumer that made the mistake by not buying MS's product in great enough numbers! LOL.

At the end of the day, people are buying a console that is advertised RIGHT NOW as being compatible with Kinect, via an adapter that is sold separately, but the adapter was discontinued weeks ago. If you think this is acceptable,
you really have overdosed on the fanboy Kool Aid.

 

You can hookup just about any webcam now to video chat with friends. Reading the 25 character codes with the Kinect was an AWESOME idea, though believe I actually only had two items that had them since launch. Personally despised voice chat/voice messages
with people using a Kinect because of the echo/feedback/background noise; headphones work better (At least for me.). Sign in securely? Are you Joking? It would sign my girlfriend in before it would recognize me, she was nowhere around when setting it up; maybe
we both have long hair? Nope. Tried resetting it with my hair pulled back. It would recognize me until she walked into the room, then it would bump me into a guest profile and move her into my profile. Blah on Kinect! Lol.
