Is it a security phone call

Toll free number dialed me today instructing me not to use banking services on my Xbox and to press 9 to talk to a rep. Just curious if it’s cell phone bull or if you’re having legitimate issues. I’ve just used Edge lately to access my online banking since
I don’t have a decent pc to work with.

Adding a Mobile Phone as a Security Proof...

So I was just trying to add my phone as a security proof,and I typed in the number right and everything and it was accepted,but every time I try to use my phone to verify my account,I do not receive a code.

I have tried setting it to send me an sms,call my phone,I've even tried my home phone as an alternative,but nothing happens.I do not receive any sort of call or sms on my phone,and as such,I can't use it as a security proof.It is
really disappointing as a phone is possibly the most secure and reliable security proof to have.

I am in Australia,and when entering my phone as a security proof,I have selected the correct region prefix,so I know it's not that.Has anyone else had this issue or is there some other way I can get this to work?

Firstly what ever you do don't follow the instructions of this phone call or give out any personal information, instead I would suggest you try and carry out an internet search of the telephone number that called you to see what results you get by carrying
out the search. After this you may want to contact your bank and verify if they may have made a call like this to yourself.
