is gold needed to move a 360 save to the x1 for BC

Gold is needed to save to the cloud on 360, I used a 7 day trial on my second 360 account and it did not give me the option to save to the cloud only the HDD.

My guess is you would need Gold to make the save from 360 to the Cloud. I've had my membership lapse before, and always got the message that Gold was needed to put a save there. Easiest way is to grab a 48 hour code and activate it long enough to put the
save there. I don't believe you need gold to move a save from the Cloud to the X1.

You can recover a save from the Cloud without Gold but you'll need to pay the sub in order to be able to upload to it.

You're Gold and if you had a 360, the two free games per month for it you actually get to keep. X1 only games you don't get to keep. (3 pathoms down within the ad)

BC was the best thing MS did with the X1, aside from playing my BC 360 titles, Netflix and other aps. My X1 wouldn't get used at all.

So lets hope MS keeps those BC titles coming.

I never activated the cloud thingy on 360 anyway, There are excellent ways to backup on usb.

And I tried Dirt 3 as BC on X1 but deleted within the hour - slight delays in response to controller - useless.

On X1 I also miss the ability to delete cloud saves, you can only delete local saves.

Don't know why that is.

And you cannot backup locally either which was simple on 360.

MS clearly want to build dependency on cloud services, and OneDrive and stuff like that - making more money charging for that.
