the game with gold next is gears of war 3 on 16 is it any good I have never played it

Is the Gears of War 4 campaign any good?

I'm thinking of getting it. Does it have any replay value? I want it, but I don't want it to be over in 4 or 5 hours. Horde mode will give me a little extra life, but I'm not into MP.

Its a very good Gears of War campaign, but it is a 4-5 hour campaign on normal difficulty, I played through on Hardcore which added a bit of time, and it looks like it has the hardest Insane mode yet. The little bit I did try was....well....insane!
Im a fan and very happy with it but maybe if your not such a big Gears fan wait until the price drops. Horde is great with friends not so much with randoms and the MP is same as it ever was..

 

Yes the Campaign is pretty wicked but Gears 2 and Gears 1 are the best Gears games both have insanely awesome stories and great multi player altho others may disagree but i love it

 

you should really play Gear of war 1&2 before 3 if you want to play the campaign. if you want to play multiplayer than go right ahead its a blast and alot of fun. Even more fun with friends

 

Let me be the voice of dissent....you'll feel like a drunk storm trooper with the accuracy. I personally have no interest in playing anymore Gears (Gears 1 from GWG, Gears 3 MP Beta), if you're a completion nut, skip it, cause "Seriously 3" is gonna be a
chore. It's free, frickin' try it out for yourself!

 

It's alright. I thought it was the weakest of the Gears released but still good fun.

 

It's great, much better than GoW Judgement, I find it to be the best of all Gears games. Can't wait for Gears 4 next year.

 

Asking this: "is gears of war any good" is like asking if cake and cookies are good.

 

Gears 3 is the best gears, really boggles my mind that anyone who played the online modes as much as me could disagree, though I think they got salty from the balance of the shotguns. Anyway it has the most content, the most modes, the shiniest visuals,
the smoothest controls and the sexy Samantha Byrne. There is nearly nothing I hated about the game, I think my rank is around 350 and only Seriously 3.0 left for achievements.

 

I guess I'm the only one that thinks the original was the best.

EXCEPT when referring to beast mode, and in that case Gears 3 is the clear winner.

 

^In my opinion, people see through rose tinted glasses when it comes to the first game as the 360 was relatively new and it was something really different at the time and memories generally consist of playing coop with your friends.

I even have those memories, but it doesn't defend the fact it just plays like crap compared to the newer versions, even the movement in 2 is a huge improvement. It also just has far less content and modes to keep me interested.

I'd love to hear why people say the first is the best, but they never seem to really give any reasoning....

 

I'm not sure that's right. The first one was relatively short, exciting and GREAT with a buddy. The second one was boring, in my opinion. The third one was overshadowed by the incredible Beast Mode. Well this is at least how I see it.

 

^Is that the only reason the first is so great? I mean, the second was great with a buddy too in my opinion and the third even better because you could play with the campaign with modifiers to mix things up a bit, beast mode and horde whereas the first you
could only play the campaign and online with a buddy.

What made 2 so boring? Practically the same game mechanics although a bit better with a different story that wasn't much better or worse then the first. Was it boring because it felt like you'd been there before with the first? If so my point would be a
valid that people harp on about it as the best because it was new and different at the time.

Tell me why 2 was so much worse with a buddy then the first as well? You say the first was GREAT and second boring, well why?

 

Well the only reason I can give is that my buddy and I played the first one and loved it and the same buddy and I played 2 and neither of us remember much of it at all.

The only two parts I remember were fighting our way through a giant worm and the dramatic scene with Dom and his wife because my friend got emotional and I had a good giggle at his expense.
