You would need to start over. The game doesn't support cross-saves.

I now downloaded FH5 trough the Microsoft store via Xbox game pass and that works just fine, I might just have to refund the Steam bought FH5, even though I'd really enjoy my games being in Steam.

Are you playing on Steam or Windows store version? Steam won't sync with Xbox.

As the Independent Advisor has noted (with their copy'pasting the information from the Forza website), Steam and Xbox are separate saves...apparently it is too difficult to integrate into the system (it's the same with FH5). I am not entirely surprised as they just crowbarred Steam into FH4 without much thought into it...FH5 is, essentially, FH4 with a makeover so it's no surprise there either. Maybe FH6 might finally allow it.

Unfortunately, far as I know, there is no way to botch a MS Store save into a Steam save.

I got FH5 Microsoft Store version as gift from one of my family member... I cant download 100gb cause of limited internet.... My Friend has FH5 but on STEAM, so is there any way I can get his steam version of FH5 scanned and converted to my MS version ?? Like we take games from friends and then verify the files and it gets installed without downloading.......

Not sure if it's possible or not but maybe your family member could get a refund of it and then give you the money to buy the disc version? You'd still have to download a decent chunk but it wouldn't be 100GB
