Is downloading a free game from the internet piracy?

I wish I could run Forza Horizon 2 on my PC. There’s a way though: emulation from Xbox 360 ISOs. But you need a copy of the game, and I don’t want to download a crack from illegal websites. Instead, I can download an ISO Forza Horizon 2 Demo and run it. Is downloading the demo still piracy? The demo is free, and it’s also discontinued.

Xenia isn’t illegal in the UK, I think, but is downloading a free game from the internet (you can’t officially because it’s discontinued) illegal?

It's a grey area in many countries, running emulation is not actually illegal in a lot of countries, and running a game that you have purchased through emulation is also not illegal in many countries but the bios, system files used in the emulator to simulate the 360 are illegal, hence the very grey area.

Downloading games over the internet, whether it's a full game or demo would be illegal.

All I can suggest at this point would be to deleted the content and re-download it again from your Download History in case it didn't download correctly originally.

If you install a game to the HDD, you will still need the disc as the console checks to make sure it's in the drive. This is to prevent copying/piracy which would occur with a disc-free method.
