Is changing the Microsoft Account to another one possible if the second account has a gamertag ...

Pretty much what the title says. I bought a new laptop with Windows 8 installed, and when I clicked on the Games app it automatically created a new Gamertag for the Microsoft account in use. There is no sign out option available so I cannot use my actual
Gamertag with my laptop. I tried to change the Microsoft account associated with my Gamertag to the one that I used for my new laptop, but since the Games app created a Gamertag for the Microsoft account used with my laptop it will not let me change it. This
is hugely frustrating because I cannot access my real gamertag without signing out of my laptop entirely and switching Microsoft accounts. Is there any way to "delete" the gamertag associated with the laptop Microsoft account so that I can put my real Gamertag
on to it?

Changing Microsoft account accosiated with gamer tag

If you are getting that error, it means you can't merge the two accounts. It's possible that another gamertag or billing account is associated with the account that you are trying to move the gamertag over to. In general, I'd recommend adding an alias to
the account instead of changing MSA anyway. (See previous post)

Ok. So right now the answer is no you can't but if you get access to an xbox console you can, and keep with me here download the gamer tag that has the email you want to use to an xbox 360. Then in the settings select account and then select the option
account security, then change the Microsoft account. Now you must at this stage have a new Microsoft account that is not attached to any other gamer tag, (just make a new one up and used it here because your never going to use it again).Now switch the new
email with the one you want to use and then after 30 days the email you want to use will become free and you can then add it to your new account that you want to use.

It's not possible to transfer a Microsoft balance from one account to another. I'm afraid it's also not possible to pay for a gamertag change with a different account, the payment has to come from your own account.

Meaning you probably created a gamertag accidentally when you made the microsoft account.

If you don't want to start over, but still use the not-yet-live profile on your console, you have a few steps to follow.

1) With another email, create another microsoft account, carefully watching out to make sure you don't generate a gamertag with it.,

2) Decide which email you want to use. At this point using the second one will be easier, but if the first one is the one you really want on the gamertag, then it's possible.

3a) The easy way: Now that a new ms account exists, select your profile and opt to join live, using the second account email.

3b) The harder way: With the created gamertag and email you posted with here, opt to change microsoft account, and switch that gamertag over to the second account, thus freeing up the original email and account for use with the proper gamertag.
