Is buying 1 game enough for 2 people in the same house?

    Hello,

I'm sure this has already been asked before but I wanted to verify the answer so that I'm well prepared of what's to come when I buy 2 new Xbox Ones.

    The situation

Both me and my brother own an Xbox 360 console each, and we play from the same house using the same network etc. Most of the time we want to play the same game for co-op purposes (e.g. Destiny, Call of Duty etc). Xbox allows licensing up to 2 times on Xbox
360 when purchasing digital games, so I usually pay for the game and download it onto my brother's console, and thereafter I download it onto my own console. The requirement for me to play is to simply stay online with my account on my console, which is perfectly
    fine.

    The worry

I'm not sure how the licensing works for Xbox One. I've read articles from Xbox explaining that the licensing is more flexible and that it even works for physical disks now, but I'm still worried and confused. How will the licensing work for Xbox One? Will
it work the same way for digital and / or physical games?

The important goal is to save money, and I don't obviously intend on spending double the money for 2 separate games for both of us, all I'm looking for is a way to share a game bought once with my brother just like Xbox 360, and I wanted some information
    on how it works.

Thank you very much, and again sorry if it's been explained before, but the answers here are critical to my next move in purchase and I want to be clear on what I'm coming up to.

    Best wishes,

    :)

    Kmart

For the week of 11-6 through 11-12 . Shop Your Way Reward Members that spend $110 or more in gaming software will receive $50 in gaming coupons.Must be bought at the same time. So if you buy 2 games you get $50 in gaming coupons enough for a free game like
buying 2 get 1 free. coupon is good 11/13 through 11/23

Just be very careful buying games from Kmart. Know what the game is really worth before buying it. Kmart is notorious for selling three year old, 20.00 titles for 40.00 or higher. Just this spring I saw Tomb Raider Underworld with a 49.99 price tag on it.

    [/quote]

I doubt anyone is that stupid...it's like charging $14.99 for a 1/2 gallon of milk and thinking you're gonna trick people into buying it.

  3. Shops

I don't remember buying a shop in AC 1 or 2 maybe you did in those two other AC side games which had nothing to with the series 1-3. All you can do is build your homestead, invite crafters to live on your land, keep up with supplies etc...this is cool enough
in my book. There are enough things to do in this game chest, feathers, pages, killing, ship battles, isn't this enough?

    Zaknokimi,

The digital process would work very similar to what you are already doing except on the Xbox One you designate a Home Xbox. The "Home" Xbox allows ANYONE on the console to enjoy the benefits of your gold subscription as well as the content on that Xbox.
So for your particular case, you were treating your brother's console as your "Home" Xbox When you sign into live on your Xbox you have access to your content but only your profile. Your brother would have access to your content as well on your other Xbox
    designated as the "Home" Xbox.

Here's some additional support information discussing how the new Home feature works:

Thanks for the clear response on how digital games work. I think you've answered half the question, which is great!

All I'm wondering now is how physical games work? Do this disks work the same as previous generation or is there an enhanced sharing feature?

    Thanks.

  6. Physical discs work in the same sense as they did on the Xbox 360. You must have the disc to play the game and therefore couldn't share it within the same household with 2 Xbox Ones at the same time.

When the Xbox One was first announced, the original DRM concept would have changed how this worked but due to the amount of negative feedback from fans about the always online concept this idea was reversed and therefore disc games remained the same as
    previous console generations.

    Home Console/Game Sharing expansion needed

    I think extended is wrong.

The true and first meaning of the account/game sharing was to a house share like 2 brothers with 2 consoles and for the parents doesnt need to buy 2 xbox live golds or 2 games. And not to people share with all their friends.

Doesnt mix the family settings with account sharing on Xbox, is not the same thing and not the same end.

More Hype for Family Library Please

Okay, let me see if I got this right.

I buy a game say Bioshock. I have 10 friends/family on my list. I play the game, the rest of my friends/family play the game over the next 2 months or so, I then gift/give the game to another friend not on my list, he has 10 friends/family on his list...
they all play the game over the next 2 months or so, he sells the game to Gamestop. Gamestop then resells it used for say $25, and a small portion goes to the publisher. This guy has 10 friends/family on his list, they all play the game over the next 2+
months, he then resells he gifts it... we will stop right there for this example

Okay, now off of this one game and one used game sale you get his, let's say $85 retail total. We have given access electronically to this number of people:

1st Sale: (1) Original buyer and people in his house + (10) other friends/family on list and in their houses

Gift: (1) Original Person receiving the gift and the people in his house + (10) other friend/family on list and in their houses

2nd Sale: (1) Original Person bought used game and people in his house + (10) other friends/family on list and in their houses

2nd Gift: (1) 2nd Person to receive a gift and the people in his house + (10) other friends/family on list and in their houses

Okay, now 44 XBL accounts over a course of 6 months have access to the game for $85 plus anyone else sharing their account in the same household, this is unknown.

And MS is going to do this free of charge?
