Is BF4 getting any better online?

I haven't had a crash either but putting whole clips into guys and only getting 1 or 2 hitmarkers if your lucky doesnt make for an enjoyable game still. I dont mind being out gunned by quicker better players but by poor netcode and unfinished game i do.

 

It's actually been pleasantly stable.

The problem has been server cues are full with servers showing half full.

 

If you cant wait to get into a server just try a quick match....quick match works now for me in one try and gets me into a game right away...before quick match for me wouldn't work at all around the holidays.

 

Ive had a major improvement in bf4 as from yesterday and cod ghosts....its called fiber broadband to resedence,..280 mbps-320 mbps dwn and a constant 21:32 upload 24/7...no cabnets,no copper wires,no coxal,1 fiber line staright into my house into a modem
, ethernet to router and 1000mbps gigE ethernet into the xb1, I said this 7 months ago,the xb1 heavily relys on your internet connection no matter how you go about it,

I played both bf4 and cod for several hours yesterday and covered peak times of UK and USA...ran as smooth as anything,all games on normal bar 1 on bf4,no screen jolts or boppin,bullet hits and correct deviation majourly increased,both gamesci saw not one
single hitch in framerate.respawn times so much quicker,getting into games,instant on east us and european servers on bf4,on cod instantly.

There was 1 game in bf4 when all name markers and the map disappered,that fixedvitself soon as I died,I assume that was just the fiber settleing in.

Until everybody gets fiber to resedence,your xb1 will never work optimumally,on any game,sadly its as simple as that.

At present there is only 1 major telephone company doing this service in the UK.

It's been completely stable since the December update and even before then the crashing had settled down a lot from the launch to that update. I may be one of the lucky ones but this game has been brilliant for me.

 

when was the patch ..cuz i got on a few days ago and couldnt even get into a match period..ive been having that problem since i got it..

 

played all weekend.... no kick backs.. no real issues... a few why am I in TDM when I chose Dom... but that was cos I was lazy and used the in game quick match.. use the one of battlelog...

one thing i did notice... when I did join a few servers... I was 2 of 2 in a queue... but was in the game in about 20 seconds... I did not see one more than 5 of 5 (Not including Op Lock or Metro. as those 2 are ALWAYS full)

It is getting there... and like they said.. make sure you play with friends... broken or not.. that is how BF should be played...

 

I've traded my Xbox One copy now so can report no issues at all lol ;-)

I've spoke to a few friends over the last week who still play, most have said it seems more stable, they have had a few issues with lag, few times the game has kicked them back to dashboard but definitely better than it was.

Mind you, I still check the Official Battlefield forums and EA/DICE Twitter from time to time, still loads reporting issues on there.

Apparently there will be more news over the next week or so about this lawsuit against EA, I really hope they get more than a slap on the wrist because I totally believe they must have known about a lot of these issues when they released the game, no-way their
testers ( or whatever they are called ) could have missed all of the problems. If nothing else, lets hope it serves as a warning to other developers thinking of releasing an unfinished game.

 

Shadow,don't get me wrong having a cracking Internet will help with general connectivity to the bf4 servers but the problem is in the design of the code on how bullets and objects interact with the players. It may seem more stable ( which it is) but I've
been playing bf games since 1943 on 360 and can tell you that the hit detection is still as screwed up as when it was released, and it's worse than bf3 ever was. It is unplayable for this reason as I have no gauge on how to improve or change my game or what
weapons are better for me because the code is so inconsistent. Which is why a long term bf fan has stopped playing it. I'll try again next patch but I don't think that will fix the game. Sadly I'll probably play only TDM from now on and I hate it in bf games.

 

What did you do that for????

@shrewedsinger9,, account for forum purpose I hope,,,, yes course m8,its all about what every single bullet,does,wether it be from a carbine to a heli,from a slam to a ls customs repair on a boat,high end internet and high end tvs are all going to make this
better for your game.

By no means am I trying to say EA are not evil because they are,and what they are doing is unacceptable on every level to us gamers,and the constant BS we all have and ate suffering at the exspence of 100 quid is apauling,but I could spent all day stateing
why EA are killing games,but my point was to say, what is working for me to at least get a decent game in,today could be horrendous on there,but keeping note on server numbers is key too,they aint just for fun,you will get some that are horrible,but you will
definitly get some that love your connection and the game is mint,sadly this is not 100% of the time.By no means is BF4 unplayable though.

Lofty has the right idea though we should all just stop playing,EA would suffer so badly,but that would never happen,as its becoming acceptable to have broken games and to grab the crappest , cheapest internet out there and expect miricles.

 

I've put over 100hrs into the MP so far, and can say that it has dramatically improved recently. Still see the odd graphical glitch, still a few bugs, but it has become very playable. My only major gripe atm is the premium model for the game, specifically
the queue jumping. I'm not a premium member and believe the queue jumping should be removed and should only include the DLCs and other crap.

 

@ shadow I'll explain later. Yes forum purposes. I meant to say that I only play in my regions servers as that is the best for us and the hit detection is broken no matter what they have done with patches. If I'm putting a whole clip into someone and getting
one or two hit markers and they turn and one shot me, then the game is unplayable. IMO. I've spawned into 3 knife animations in the last weeks. That means I hit deploy and the minute my character is in game a guy is halfway through taking my tags. Data packets
are not being sent or coded right to those EA servers no matter where we live. PC is still the same. X1 is worse still

 

BTW.... have any of you changed the network smoothing in options... this greatly improves the hit detection...default is set at 50%... if you have a stable net with a good ping... lower it to 0%...
