Is anyone upset that Microsoft's Flag Ship Title is only 792p...

Can expect the Xbox One to step it up a bit the graphics department regardless. I won't be saying no to 1080p if they can manage it.

I can forgive that the game isn't 1080p, I can even put up with the drops in frame rate. I cant ignore the awful screen tearing though, it distracts from what would otherwise be a fun game to play

 

Actually technically Microsoft's flagship with the Xbox One was Forza 5 and that game looks phenomenal. But, like everyone here it's fun and sometimes you don't realize it's only 792p. The only issue I have is the frame rate it causes some issues for me
at times and I find myself trying to get away from the fight for a few seconds

Most people can't tell the difference unless you put the 720 and 1080 side by side. It's a big deal out of nothing. Most of your HD cable feed for TV are only 720p too, and I bet many people don't even know that.

 

The real problem is not the low resolution. They didn't even achieve smooth gameplay at 792p (framerate drops and tearing). That's what's rally bothering me.

Framerate and tear issues are off the OP topic, but just to put my 2cents worth in, I haven't noticed any problems in the framerate/tear department. I've had consistent, relatively fast connections with no problems. The servers are working great and the
game is smooth for me.

 

The screen tearing and frame rate drops are there for everyone using the xbox one version (haven't played pc version). Some people just don't notice it, good for them, if you cant see it, don't start looking, it will only ruin your experience as it has for
me.

I contacted EA support and the guy confirmed they are looking at 'improving' the screen tearing. Not quite sure how they are going to do this without slowing the game down or lowering resolution.

I will not deny that having nice 1080p resolution is absolutely awesome, but not at the expense of slowing down the game. Personally, I would rather have a game that runs at 792p smoothly all the time rather than have a game that runs at 1080p smoothly
only when there isn't a lot of action going on the screen; especially in a game as intense as "Titanfall". I know that I'm still on the Xbox 360, but the fact of the matter is that it is pointless to have a beautiful looking game at 1080p when you're sacrificing
the ability to be able to play it.

I absolutely agree, Lei Fang.

Problem is, the game doesn't even run smoothly at 792p (despite some people claim the contrary). I wonder how they are planning to achieve a smooth 60 fps framerate without screen tearing at 900p or even 1080p, when the game is struggling at 792p right now.
I really hope a smooth gaming experience is still their top priority. Really, 792p doesn't bother me in the least, but the horrbile screen tearing that appears occasionally is beyod acceptable. Also, whenever there are a lot of Titans on screen, the framerate
drops tremendously. This has to be ironed out first, then a higher resultion can be discussed. A constant framerate is a must in fast-paced games like Titanfall and much more important than resolution.

 

720p on xbox 360, not much difference there, was it worth spending all that money to get the same game
