Is anyone a little worried about Fable now?

I was watching a program a while ago(no gaming related) and in it was one of the developers who brief explained he was working on the kinect side of it, and for the very short time it was mentioned, it did grab my attention and I was really looking forward
to the posibilities.

Should I be worried its not going to be as impressive as I thought, or will fable be so impressive xbox can say ner ner ner ner ner?

I assume that you have seen Caspian Border, If you compare the textures and graphic's to Operation Metro, CB looks less detailed then OM. Dice are a experienced developer and will most likely have tried and tested skills where they can find a balance between
graphic/texture detail and FPS. I agree with you tho, I would happily give up detail for smother gameplay.

The biggest problem is that all worries that people are having is because of a bad beta and alot of server issues that can also effect the drop of FPS. I have not seen the FPS on my Xbox drop lower enougth to make the game unplayable.

 

A little worried

I think some of the problem's we have seen in the beta, is a case of Frostbite 2 being new and still in final stages of development as-well as the game itself.

The issue with the FPS is not coursed by textures, it's the way the engine renders the textures that makes the FPS drop however as-long as the FPS doesn't drop under 25FPS for more then a second then the average player should't notice, Its only when its drops
for longer is when we start to notice and the game starts to feels like it's in slow motion.

Also try to remember that not all capture cards used by gamers on YouTube capture the image at 30FPS. If the capture card is recording at a lower frame rate and the game in questions frame rate drops for a moment, it might not be noticeable in the game as its
not low enough but is noticeable on the recording. Most capture cards that record at 60hz, capture images at 25FPS.

 

If it was as a third party developer I would be worried, but because Fable is developed by lionhead (owned by Microsoft) I wouldn't worry.

 

It will most likely still be there as intended, still an optional choice just like the Kinect features in Dead rising & ryse.

Only the games that would not use an actual controller will be effected and we only knew of a handful.

 

I dont even know how you even drew that conclusion. Fable will sell and it will probably do really well to be honest. But kinect being apart of the xbox one has nothing to do with how the game will turn out.

 

I do hope we get more info on game play at E3.

See how the 4P co-op works and what the 5th player can do as the villian.

Maybe the Kinect function was for the 5th player to just use their hands to direct the waves of enemies they send at the heroes.

 

Yop, the villain can use Kinect or tablet,in RTS-like gameplay.

But now ,who knows....

 

@24hrs, since Fable is Xbox game, I was/am hoping for big kinect things from it.

I know it will sell well, and I am sure it will still be a great addition to the franchise, but I was hoping it will be the start of the kinect becoming more, DR3 was a good step and had some cool features, I wanted fable to be the next 2 or 3 steps.

I am hoping that MS adding kinect as an option, will then bring things out that will kiteep it a must have.

I now fable isn't a genre for everyone but its still a big game.
