  1. Is analog button wiring significantly different than digital button wiring?

I'm having trouble hooking up by All Digital buttons to an Xbox adaptive controller because apparently Xbox is expecting something else in the left and right trigger.

Apparently it's throwing off my controller because no matter what it's on if the LT and RT are plugged in and they're not a very specific circuit it always messes up the other buttons inputs. It like shows them always on all the time and shows them doubling certain buttons and interfering with certain buttons

If I have to fight stick buttons that are digital and want to use them in the Xbox adaptive controller how do I do that what kind of circuits must I plug in between the 3.5 mm connector of the button and the 3.5 mm connector of the Xbox adaptive controller?

There is something fundamentally different about the wiring of an analog button versus a digital button on this Xbox adaptive controller and I don't know what to do about it.

I understand certain games need analog control but for ones that don't should there be some sort of circuit which makes the transfer possible.

I also noticed this when I plugged my adaptive controller into a brook wingman and S to convert Xbox One into Nintendo switch. But it was also doing that on the straight through to the Xbox One or Xbox Series S

Is there a way to take a fundamentally digital button and plug it into an input expecting analog controls with a 3.5mm TRS connector?

If this problem gets solved then probably this would be a good Universal controller for all media when you combine it with Brook adapters.

    :)

Is analog button wiring significantly different than digital button wiring?

Yes, a digital signal is on or off

An analog signal has a range, and its values are constantly measured as they change

    The stick is analog

    The d-pad is digital

I would suggest you look on a site like AbleGamers where there are people who are also building these kinds of accessories and will have the knowledge and experience to help you better

Is analog button wiring significantly different than digital button wiring?

    Hi TripleTopper321,

Welcome to Xbox Community Forums. We appreciate for sharing your concern with us and we hope that you are doing well today.

We understand the inconvenience caused. As per description, we understand that you are trying to know more about Xbox's analog and digital controllers.

Basically, the answer to your question is, Analog regulators are easy-to-control but vulnerable to electromagnetic interference. Digital regulators are harder to operate but eliminate potentially damaging electrical noise. When compared to digital regulators, analog controllers react faster to changes in command or operating conditions.

We found interesting article that might get your attention as well, kindly check on this and let us know if you get some useful information about your concerns. Pease click the link Xbox Adaptive Controller | Xbox.

If I completely remove the left analog joystick without replacement..to compatibly use the arrow buttons direction will it work

    Hi Bronco.

    My name is Renato.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Removing the left analog joystick can have two different consequences to consider. On one hand, the controller can still function with the directional buttons, allowing you to continue using it.

However, on the other hand, it's important to note that the sensitivity of the joystick is significantly higher than that of the directional buttons, providing greater and more precise control in games.
The left analog joystick offers analog input, enabling smooth and continuous movement in various directions. Conversely, the arrow buttons deliver digital input, registering individual button presses (up, down, left, or right).

Additionally, depending on the title you're playing, you may not have the ability to play it because it's designed only for use with the left analog stick.

To sum up, although you can substitute the analog joystick with the arrow buttons, be mindful that the gaming experience might not be the same. Take into account the particular scenario and manage your expectations accordingly.

    I hope I've been helpful.

    Kind regards
    Renato
