Iron Galaxy Playing It Safe?

His a boxer.....lol what did you guys want them to make him look like? i agree that he could look a little better but what exactly where you all expecting? and thats the thing about tj in the first 2 games he was always the normal guy compared to the rest
of the cast, and its still early they can still change some things

 

I have to agree with @Stefraki where is this rugged disgraced boxer seeking redemption? All I see in that trailer is a very clean cut boxer straight out of some fancy club he seems to be doing rather well for himself.

Steve Fox is "just a boxer" Dudley is "just a boxer" and yet their designs tell you all about their story and where they are headed.

 

I think that the design of TJ Combo would be great, with a few tweaks. Most of the design effort, I find, was placed in his face. He looks older, he looks like he has seen some things and experienced hardships. For me, all that remains is to add facial
expressions and his face will tell the story.

The ironic thing that I am finding here is that DH has turned into the new Rare. As everyone now applauds the radial design changes that were made to characters, when, at the time they were chided for these changes [GLACIUS IMMEDIATELY COMES TO MIND]. Please,
don't misunderstand me either..I love ALL of their original designs, and to me the most overhauled character in the game, Glacius, is the best designed SO FAR. However, As I recall, the main argument put forth to DH is that the design characters should naturally
progress from the previous game, making the characters instantly recognizable,but refreshed. TJ Combo is definitely that, and potentially more.

So for me, given the amount of time that IG has worked on him and what we've seen, i am pleased and optimistic for what remains...so I can't wait for the finished TJ Combo and I'm on pins and needles waiting on my main..CINDER

You'd figured he'd keep his eyepatch and have more scars from fighting Riptor that's what I think is weird about it. so far his design's not bad though.

 

@Jeffron27 yeah, the eye and maybe scars from the Riptor fight is all I'm missing on TJ's design too... as several people here has already said, he was always a normal plain looking guy, which is actually also why I never liked him very much, because I was
all into the crazy weird characters

And the new TJ gives me that exact feeling again

And also like in the old games, it's his attitude and fighting style that makes him bad-***, not his looks. So I'm happy that they actually DID hit the exact same "feel" I had for him back then.

Plus, he's only about 50% complete, let's wait and see what the final product gives us

Oh and also... about the timetravel never happening... that can't be an excuse for his eye, since that was Riptor's work

 

What I get from his overall design is a very safe feeling, that they took hardcore fan suggestion into account the same fellows who hated all the new character designs that DH had done. DH went the extra mile with each and every character, still keeping
their personality's intact but making them appear fresh.

TJ for me at least seems so very stale compared to the rest of the fresh cast. Nothing dramatic regarding his design will change since IG are working on so much other content they simply won't have time. Like I stated before I just hope this is not a taste
of things to come in regards to character design, if so then the S2 cast will be as boring as celery to look at
