Disabling Kinect IR signals while using IR out port

I'm in a situation where I've got two TVs that react to the same remote control (and even though they're smart TVs with a thousand settings the remote control code can't be changed). I want the XBOX One to turn the TV it's connected to on/off while leaving
the other TV untouched. So I went out and brought an IR cable and it works really nicely, however the Kinect continues to turn both screens on/off.

Is there any solution that doesn't involve putting duct tape over the Kinect's IR blaster? Or is there any way I can just do this over the HDMI cable instead of IR?

Can the Xbox One be controlled by a USB to IR receiver?

I know there is an IR OUT port on the back of the Xbox One that allows the Xbox One to blast IR signals to other devices. I'm not talking about that.

What I want is a USB to IR receiver that plays nice with the Xbox One. So a simple cable with an IR receiver on it that plugs into one of the USB ports on the Xbox One. There are many of these cables out there but I don't know if the Xbox One would recognize
them...I know the Xbox uses weird wireless protocols with controllers and can send IR out via Kinect or the IR OUT port and it also has IR receiving on the main unit (my Harmony remote can send IR to it) but I don't know if a USB to IR receiver would work..

The Xbox 360 actually had one of these cables that came with the SceneIt? games (apparently the dumb dumbs that made the game couldn't figure out (or couldn't afford whatever licensing fees) the Xbox wireless protocol so they HAD to have such a device).

The whole purpose of what I would be doing is simply control the Xbox One from another room (not line-of-sight) so I would need an IR receiver extension cable...

IR out: Infrared output port for IR blaster (optional; IR blaster not included).

The IR port is designed to control devices via an IR transmitter such as a home theater system.

I haven't checked on the newer Xbox One models (i.e. the S and X models), but the original Xbox One had an IR extender plug on the backside, where you could connect an IR Extender, and run the cable inside a cabinet to control the devices that are otherwise
unreachable for the IR signal sent out by the IR blaster of the console or Kinect.

If your console has such an IR extender plug, you can simply use such an extender and route the cable for that extender from where your console is to near the IR receptor on your TV.

It's not so much the actual camera seeing you it's more to do with the IR blaster on the Kinect and the IRs on the controller being out of sight. This is the way the One determines controller 1, 2, 3 and 4...even with 1 controller the Kinect likes to keep
it in view of the IR blaster.

I'm trying to figure out if the IR extender feature on it will work with the One controller. My tech knowledge regarding IR is virtually non-existent, never had to worry about not being in the same room with the device.
