IR Extension cable for xbox one without kinect

Just got my 'call of duty' limited edition 1T xbox one without the kinect. Set it up okay but now it wants me to set up/install an IR extension cable. No cable came in the box and I've checked three local stores that should have them but they don't. Where
do I can this cable so I can actually use my xbox to watch cable TV? Thanks

How do I use IR Port in back?

Does the xbox IR port repeat any remote I point at the kinect? My xbox one is at front of room (as there is no 40ft kinect extension cable). The rest of my equipment is in a closet, it includes items not controllable via xbox. Can I plug an IR extender
cable into the IR output port and use tho kinect to receive IR signals and send them to the closet?

It is possible to use your Xbox One Media Remote with your Xbox One console without having a Kinect. In order to control volume on your receiver you will need to have an IR blaster that connects via 3.5 mm cable and has 3 or fewer emitters. For more info,

The set up / installation process specifically asks for this cable to be used in install. I never knew nor cared what the connection to kinect this xbox had, I just knew I didn't purchase the kinect with this box. Apparently it's the lynch pin to controlling
TV with my xbox one controller............... I thought the whole purpose of xbox one was that it did "everything" and wasn't just a ps4.

 

The kinect is part of "all in one entertainment system" that Microsoft introduce.

 

You don't NEED a Kinect to watch TV. As long as you can use your remotes for your TV and cable box or whatever you'll be fine.

It's the one I use, and haven't had a problem with it at all. Pretty easy to set up, just plug it into the IR out of your Xbox and then position the IR emitters in front of whatever you want to control. It sucks they don't sell these in stores. You'd think
that since the Xbox now can be sold without a Kinect, they'd have a readily available IR cable for you to use.
