    Why won't my Series S use IPv6?

Thank you for contact us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    Good morning

There could be several reasons why your Xbox Series S is not using IPv6, even though your Xbox One is.

Here are a few possible explanations:

IPv6 may not be enabled on your router's LAN settings. Although your Xbox One is able to use IPv6, it's possible that your router's LAN settings are not configured to use IPv6 by default. This could be the reason why your Xbox Series S is not able to use IPv6.

Your ISP may not support IPv6. Even if your router is configured to use IPv6, your ISP may not support it. If this is the case, your Xbox Series S will not be able to use IPv6.

Your Xbox Series S may not be configured to use IPv6. It's possible that your Xbox Series S is not configured to use IPv6 by default. To check this, go to the network settings on your Xbox Series S and make sure that IPv6 is enabled.

Your network cable may not be capable of supporting IPv6. It's possible that your network cable is not capable of supporting IPv6. If this is the case, you will need to replace your network cable with one that is capable of supporting IPv6.

Your Xbox Series S may not be getting an IPv6 address from your router. Even if IPv6 is enabled on your router, your Xbox Series S may not be getting an IPv6 address from your router. To check this, go to the network settings on your Xbox Series S and check if an IPv6 address is assigned.

I recommend checking these possibilities to try to identify the cause of the issue. You may also want to contact your ISP or the manufacturer of your router or Xbox Series S for further assistance.

    : Xbox series S IPv6

My ISP recently did a upgrade across their whole network so they are now able to offer IPv6.

After doing more research on network settings, I went to my routers advanced settings and in the IPv6, LAN setup, everything is marked for auto configuration. In the LAN setup is a section saying use this interface ID. I put one of my Xbox ip address in
there (the wireless one) and that seemed to do the trick. Both xboxes are now showing IPv6 connections. How long this will last who knows.

One thing I am sure of is of someone or someplace doesn't have an answer they are going to blame it on someone else.

    Xbox series S IPv6

I have a similar problem, Have Verizon 5g and My xbox one will only be able to run off IPv4. My router lists the IPv6 address but for some reason will only acknowledge the IPv4 to my XboxOne. also experiencing low download speeds and high latency tho my
phone and laptop (both wireless) running at optimal speeds. Xbox customer support is telling me this is an issue with the ISP....

    sucks!
