    Ipv6 not recognized

Other network devices are connected using IPv6 but my Xbox series X sees only IPv4 (wired connection). (obviously my ISP supports IPv6) The advanced settings screen doesn't offer an option for manually entering an IPv6 address either. Console software is current. Have I overlooked something?

    IPv4 & IPv6

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello Kaoticmonster27, this can be a bit more complicated because unfortunately not all providers, servers, CDN'S have IPV6 active.

Yes, Xbox recognizes IPV6, but it's no use much for your provider to have IPV6 active, then the other nodes that the data will go through and also the game's target server doesn't have it active.

Ideally, and what I have done even on my home network, is to disable the IPV6 protocol on the modem router and leave only IPV4 by definition.

    how do I change ipv4 to ipv6

first you need to make sure your ISP is supporting ipv6 and has it set up. If they do, you have to call them and tell them you want IPv6 turned on for you. Once they do that, you can go into your router, and with most routers you have to run native or a
combo of IPv4 and IPv6, because most software and stuff isnt running totally on ipv6 and wont be for awhile. Once you turn that on your router, your xbox will automatically recognize the IPv6 and it should say "IPv4 and IPv6" .

Depending on your router or your isp, i wouldnt recommend going with IPv6, i have noticed a decrease in my bandwidth on xbox. They might say you will see good changes, but i dont think so yet. Plus on your PC or what not, if you watch streams online, alot
of places recommend not using ipv6, it could mess with there device players. All little stuff, but it does add up. IPv6 will be great once its fully implented and everyone is on it.

Good morning can I please ask how do I setup my network to ipv6 on Xbox series s and also how do I setup matchmaking work fast on my network?

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello Moyeni, IPV6 is automatically enabled on your Xbox on any Model One, it is recognized if your provider's modem/router has IPV6 enabled on the network.

I don't know what your network is like, whether it's connected by wi-fi or network cable, but if you want stability on your Xbox the ideal would be to connect it with a network cable of at least Cat6 up.

They are ethernet cables that have high transfer rates and the cable will give you greater stability in the network.

How to switch from IPv4 to IPv6?

IPV6 has to be supported by your router and your ISP. IPV6 is already built into Xbox and when it detects it you're set.

Comcast is my ISP and their network supports IPV6.

I have a netgear router that supports IPV6 and it's just a matter of logging in to the router and enabling the IPV6 feature.

    Xbox IP

first: your isp must use ipv6 and u must be able to get ipv6

second: your router must use ipv6, see first

and last, your xbox should use ipv6 if first and second is ok.

but be aware, you can have problems with ipv6
