IPv6 as Primary and secondary DNS

Hi there.
I´m having na issue where my primary and secondary dns are being displayed as IPV6 I believe that this has been the cause of many disconnects throughout every online game I play. I´ve been facing this issue daily for a long time already and I haven´t found
a solution yet.
I opened up ports for the games I play, such as Fifa and yet, I keep getting disconnected. My internet Works fine thought. I use the "ping x.x.x.x -t" command and I haven´t had any drop packets.
I´ve already performed a factory reset on my Xbox as well and nothing.
If I try to change the primary and secondary DNS, I have the option to add IPv4 address only and even if I type google dns , for instance, it doesn´t replace the IPv6 dns.
How do I solve this? How can I get it back to IPv4? I´ve manually entered all my ip settings and also reserved an ip in my router so that my Xbox automatically receives an IP and DNS settings and still... NOTHING.

Manually Type in IPv6 or revert to IPv4

no it doesnt. i type in primary and secondary dns servers and exit and it comes up with the IPv6 still. Just like i said above. cause it prefers the IPv6.

Oh and having issues with DNS. It wont do automatic DNS gives an error, Manual DNS doesnt work right. I enter primary and secondary and it puts primary as 0.0.0.0 and makes the secondary what i put in for primary.

 

The DNS information is coming from the DHCP server. Whether this is relayed, or local, that I don't know, but let's assume it's local. I would then assume your router gateway is IPv6 configured and your console request IPv6 information over IPv4 information.

 

If you go into your router settings you may be able to turn off the using IPv6 setting and only use IPv4 like i can with my sky router as i also believe that for some reason the IPv6 DNS causes on-line problems. Worth a try as it worked for me.

 

I've got IPV6 DNS and never get disconnected while online gaming. I think it would not work at all if it really came from ipv6 dns issue. Your disconnects should come from elsewhere?
