IP HACK

I I have been booted offline by numerous people from xbox live parties, call of duty games, etc. Also I had reported a player a long time ago who hit me off 2 times. And nothing was done. it takes me one hour to get back online or I have to call xfinity
to get back on. Please help and get rid of these type of players. It seems like xbox live has no security at all. What am I paying gold for?

:)

Hey XpG ReBounDz! We do not have access to Enforcement Team actions here on the forums. Your best bet is to report and block the offending player so the Enforcement Team can look into it Thanks!

IP HACK

Xbox live cant prevent a DDOS or DOS attack, as it is out of there control. Only your ISP and the attacker's ISP can control it.

No not really I called my isp (comcast) and they said they can't do anything about it cuz they changed my ip address 2 times already, and I don't want to be on a vpn cuz the internet will be really slow. And also comcast said it is your servers the hackers
are tampering with and the xbox is your equipment so they told me to talk to you guys about it. And also you need to take action against these hackers like I already had said.for example: You guys never took care of the ticket number:1232190458.

Actually what Comcast told you was false. They're attacking your internet, not the Xbox servers. Dos attacks actually have nothing to do with Xbox. You can read more about them here -

support.xbox.com/.../dos-attacks-faq

As far as investigating the other players, you will need to file a complaint on them via the console so the enforcement team can investigate them. No one on the forums has the power to do anything.

IP HACK

Hey there DMND!

DoS (Denial of Service) or DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) is a volumetric attack, carried out from a single origin, (DoS) or by a collection of multiple controlled machine's (DDoS). These attacks aims a specific targeted network, flooding and exhaust its victim(s)
network resources, to prevent legitamate traffic pass trough.

What's important to understand is that the nature of such an attack is that it do not breach the inside of your network, but simply aims at the WAN interface of your networking device, (router).
And also comcast said it is your servers the hackers are tampering with and the xbox is your equipment so they told me to talk to you guys about it
The information your received from your ISP is as wrong as can get.

The information obtained, to carry out DoS, or DDoS attack is quite simple. All it requires is an IP address that is reachable and can be used over the Internet (routable). This address is also known as a public IP address, or WAN address which is a unique
address assigned by your ISP.

For any device on your network that needs to communicate to a host over the Internet, each are required to use a unique IP address. But since you only have one unique WAN address, a NAT device, or router, is required to translate these addresses, to and from
your network, to this one WAN/Internet address. This technique is the relationship between your WAN address and your private addresses. Addresses that are within this private realm, can't be routed out on the Internet and are therefore required to be translated.

Now when you have some very basic knowledge of public and private IP address, how is it possible for an attacker to obtain your public IP and carry out an attack.

Well, there is no "tampering" or security flaw, or even hacking skills involved to carry out a DoS, or DDoS attack. An Xbox LIVE server is not involved in any way during these attacks. So, where's the missing ingredient in this equation then?

Most games that you play on your Xbox, in multiplayer mode, mainly relies on two concepts,
P2P (Peer to Peer) network architecture and
Listen server. Despite which technique is being used for state of game, is the exchanged information between players, or player, to
establishing communication between host(s).

You and your best friend (who lives in a different state) has decided to play a map in Black Ops Zombies. Both of you connect to LIVE and start the game. Your friend comes in a bit earlier and select a map (for two of you to play on) and becomes the
host of the game. Your friend now becomes the server and perform all the necessary functions to host this game, found on the game disc. For you to connect to your friend, (as the server/host) certain information needs to be exchanged first, so that the
two of you can communicate directly to one and the other. This process relies on the rendezvous server/Matchmaking. The server records each of your endpoints, (public IP address and UDP port number) but because your endpoints (IP;Port) do not know how
to reach your friends endpoints, (IP;Port) for establishing a session, the server (which knows this information) sends a message to you containing your friends IP;Port and in the opposite direction, a message to your friend containing your IP;Port.

Your friend now has the information, to establishing a direct connection to you and you about him, to set up a direct connection between the two of you. Both of you start sending UDP traffic to the other sides public endpoints to punch a hole in each of your
NAT tables (Hole Punching) for a new UDP session. After Hole Punching process, you and your friend can now communicate directly, without any server to rely on, for the duration of each new session.

Your friend can use certain tools to analyze any traffic from and to his network, including your game session.

I hope this has been informative for you and i like to thank you for reading.
