    you do realize ip bans are useless right a vpn or a different dns or a simple reset of the modem makes it useless right ?

    Console id or serial numbers which can't be changed are more effective

    xbox can't ip ban anyone as such because it is the easiest to bypass so google basic Internet bans and no there is no ip bans as they are useless with basic Internet understanding

    You can get IP banned, as easy at is may be to bypass. I know someone who has been. Their gamertag is SAM08010. And again, please use capitals and punctuation.

    The only way to effectively IP ban someone would be to ban every IP in use by their ISP. Doing that would ban thousands of innocent people.

    They don't ban IPs, they ban accounts and consoles.

    An IP Ban would not be effective if the person could get a new IP address in a few minutes.

    No. They can still be banned, just not IP banned. As I said, it's easy to get a new IP address.

    As Bong said, IP bans are a worthless measure.

    Most people use dynamic IPs, meaning it changes every time they connect to the internet or reset their router.

    It is quite rare for a ISP to give an individual a static IP, one that stays the same no matter what, and when they do it is usually for an extra cost.

    -

    So all an IP ban would do is cause a troublemaker a two minute inconvenience and move that banned IP onto another innocent person.

    -

    The only way to effectively IP ban would be to block the whole range of IPs in use by the offenders ISP, but then you'd also be banning thousands of innocent people as well.
