Make sure your Wireless and LAN adapter on your Laptop are both set to automatic IP adress. Also make sure your console gets the IP address automatically.

Now dis-connect console from the Laptop, and select both WLAN and LAN icons on your PC (if necessary, hold the CTRL key while you click on each network adapter icon). Then right click and choose to bridge the connection.

Now connect the XBox again to the Laptop and make sure the Laptop can access the internet through your WLAN router properly. Check the IP Address of the WLAN adapter. With most routers it should be something like 192.168.xxx.yyy or 10.xxx.yyy.zzz

Now go to the network settings of your console and check the IP address there. The first three octets should match the IP Address of your Laptops WLAN adatper (i.e. if your Laptop is 192.168.1.23 your console should also have 192.168.1."something_other_than_23")

If that is the case, your console should connect.

If not, try to manually enter the IP information, matching EVERYTHING from the Info on your Laptops WLAN (i.e. default Gateway, Network Mask, DNS). However do NOT copy the IP address. You HAVE TO change the last octet to a free IP address in your network.

Then something is probably mixed up in your laptops routing table. Can you try just for testing purposes, if your console is able to connect properly directly to your router?

Additionally, to further troubleshoot the issue:

What is the IP address of the laptops interface that goes to the router?

What is the IP address that is assigned to the interface that goes to the Xbox?

What IP address does the Xbox have?

And finally, what default gateway does the Xbox show?

Since you connect through a router, all these adresses should be from a private IP range (i.e. usually 192.168.xxx.yyy or 10.xxx.yyy.zzz, and if the devices are auto-negotiating in the Zero-Conf IP space it is 196.254.xxx.yyy) and are not reachable from the
outside internet. So it is safe to post the IP adresses here.

what exactly are you trying to achieve?

If the laptop and console are both connected to the same network the console usually is visible without the requiring an IP address.

You can also find the used IP address via the router (settings) which should have a list of all devices connected and their IP addresses. (Keep in mind that IP addresses can change)

I am having the same issue. Today connecting through the windows 10 app and smartglass app on my phone is unable to connect to the xbox automatically or by specifying the IP Address

What exactly do you mean when you are "connected to your laptop over LAN wire"?

Are you connecting the Xbox to the laptop, and then the laptop to the internet? Then this is where the double NAT comes from.

Your Router is a NAT device since it has to do "Network Address Translation" for the devices directly connected to the router that access the internet
through one IP address, and if you connect your Xbox through your Laptop, then the Laptop is the second NAT device, as it has to translate it's own "internet-facing" IP address to the multiple devices (in theory you could connect more than just the Xbox to
the Laptop through a network switch or a hub) connected to the laptop.

To resolve your double NAT issue with Laptop, you'll have to open the network interface settings by pressing Windowskey + R and then typing "ncpa.cpl" and pressing OK.

In the network interface window, select both interfaces (the network Interface that connects the Laptop to the internet, and the interface that connects to the Xbox). If necessary, hold the CTRL key and click on each of the two interfaces to select both.

Then right click on one of the selected interfaces, and choose to bridge these connections.

This will then create a network bridge instead of a internet connection sharing that uses NAT.
