For privacy reasons, they may not be able to divulge that information. Work with the Xbox Live Support agent you're in contact with and they can tell if you if that is possible.

That said, you can look at your
son's account and go to the Security page to see if there are any unexpected logins (it will be under the "recent activity" section). It may not show console sign-ons, but it could be something to work with, too.

I would suggest setting up a call back from an Xbox Live support agent by following the steps below. The agent would be able to look into your billing account and try to determine who, when and where the purchases were made from.
The agent would be able to see if the console was signed into with your Microsoft account from another location.

No but you can request a refund and refute the charge as not having been made by you. I would suggest you change your password on the account.

Is your son on a child account? or do they play on yours? I would put them on a child account if not. if you do not do that then I would remove the card associated with the account and set it to make you login for every purchase.

Unfortunately contacting XBOX Support wouldn't do much about the situation as this is not something that they would be able to assist you with. If you still have this users message please use the built in "File a Complaint" feature on the users XBOX Live
profile.

How to file a complaint.

You will need to file a complaint under the following:

File a Complaint > Tampering > System Tampering

File a Complaint > Text and Voice Communications > Text Message

Once that's done feel free to go to the message and select the option to "Block Communications", this option will prevent this user from ever sending you a message again.

Please Note: Do not send this person any sort of message or correspondence back as it will undo the block that was set.

It's also important to understand that this is not the fault of XBOX Live or Microsoft, it's more so the nature of how networking and the current day internet works. You connect to XBOX Live and then connect to different peers from around the world using their
internet connections to get in a game (for most games that are on non-dedicated servers) so it's quite easy to obtain an IP Address by doing so not just over XBOX Live but any sort of Peer to Peer networking service (Playstation Network, Nintendo Wii, Online
PC Games, etc)

While I understand that something like this can be frustrating, your best approach is to read through the article linked above and follow through with the steps appropriately.
