IP Address Error

Can someone please help me ive tried mostly everything portfowarding, using a static ip, and etc. Now my router can only use static ip addresses and that sucks i want to use a dhcp. Now when i connect to xbox live using static ip it says IP Address Error
can someone please help for more info please contact me ASAP.

Sorry to hear about the connection issues.

The IP Address Error means that there is another device using that same IP address somewhere in your network. You could try using an IP address with .99 at the end. For example: 10.0.0.99 or 192.168.1.99

Now, this is just a workaround, could you please answer the following questions? Doing so will give us an overview of your network layout.

Thanks for posting that information.

Lets do a quick test. First of all, put your Xbox 360 on DHCP again and check what IP is assigned to the console, write this IP down somewhere. Next, turn off the console and open your CMD (Command Prompt) on your computer.
Once its open, type ping {the IP address you wrote down}

So for example, ping 192.168.0.1

If you get a reply, then that means that the DHCP of your router is not working properly because it is assigning already used IP's to new devices.

If you don't get any reply from the IP address, then we'll have to investigate the issue further.

Never heard of an end user NAT device that doesn't have DHCP server installed, or at least the ability to enable this feature.

According to the Cox documentation for the Ubee DDW365 DHCP should be listed under Basic settings and DHCP.

Do not confuse DHCP on your router's two interfaces, as one of these is actually facing the public WAN (obtained from your ISP), and the other facing your local network, or internal network, which distribute IP information to any device on this network that
request this information.

If you use an older firmware version for your gateway, and at the same time, configure your console with static IP address that are within the dynamically range of the DHCP servers pool of addresses, then you'll have to force a release for this specific
address before you assign this to a host machine on your network (e.g. Xbox).

Whenever you assign a machine on your network with static IP settings, make sure you assign this address outside of the DHCP servers pool of dynamically assigned addresses to avoid IP conflicts. Or, you can use DHCP reservation, or in your case, DHCP statically.

I would also recommend to check that Ethernet Cable of yours, to make sure it's not faulty.

 

I had same problem with one of my internet,after a little searching I find out that is the problem of the ISP,Try connecting to xbox live with another Internet with a different ISP.
