Invites

Unfamiliar what the invite is I was hoping I could get a clear understanding what it is exactly. I was playing a game and some random player asked for Inv. This was unusual for me and I didn't know what that meant. I sent in invite to party not knowing
what I was doing and it said so and so was joined the party. Not knowing what I did I just continued playing and after 2 or 3 hours later it said that person left the party. Can someone explained to me what happened?

I can't receive invites or messages from friends. Most of my friends are having the same issue

Hold the power button to turn off your xbox fully and then turn it back on.

That fixed it for me last time, happened more than once but thats how I got it to work all the time.

Thanks for your post. It seems that you had joined their party, a party is a voice/chat room where multiple people on Xbox Live can play together or just interact and communicate on our services. For more information on Xbox Live parties check out:

I often get rogue invites from unfamiliar usernames, or messages from people asking me to invite them to a party. If you want to prevent those messages and invites from happening, you can change your privacy
settings so that the only people who can contact you and invite you are people on your friends list.

If you want to do that, you can follow this link: Sign in to your Microsoft account

Change the section titled "Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites" to Friends, and then strangers can't invite or message you anymore.

What I tend to do is just ignore any invite unless I know who it's from. Hope that helps.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums I have read through your message and there nothing to worry about. because the Party on Xbox live is basically a tool or application that enables you to talk to people in party and while
being in party you can play games, change settings to

Joinable - Any one can join party

invite only - people in the party have to invite person to join

How to create party


Press the Xbox button
to open the guide.

Select Multiplayer > Start a party.

How to join party

To join an Party, follow the same process as above, Home to
Profile, but instead of selecting friends, scroll to the right to see a list of active parties under
Parties. Selecta party and make sure the party on Joinable if it not message person ask for invite.

How to change the party settings_



once you Start the party

click on party controls

select make party Joinable or Invite only

I am part of a community for a game and sometimes people ask for help. Because someone asked for an invite I thought they wanted to see how I play. When I sent the invite and they accepted does this mean they were able to watch what I was doing? If so,
how do I communicate?

 

Hello Mex,

Invites are an invitation to play a game or talk in chat with that person. For example lets say we both play Fortnite, I send you an invite for a party, due to we get in the same squad and then we can talk and collaborate easier to get that win. We all get
the rogue invites. Personally I ignore them if I do not know the person. We recommend trying a party chat or partying up in a game with a friend so you can get a feel for it. When you sent invite, you sent one for a party chat, that is where you can talk
to each other over the Xbox like a phone call.

I get alot of random players requesting party invite.

Its a feature that allows you to communicate with them easier while playing the same game.

When doing the party chat just make sure you also follow the code of conduct.
