Invalid Trade-In Promo Code

Hello, I was told to make a new thread so here it is.

I received a Trade In Promo Code and tried to use it during the free game promotion. It apparently wasn't eligible to be used during that promo. Now if I try to use the promo code I received, it says invalid promo code. I have tried both MS Store support
and the MS Partner CExchange and neither have been able to help. I have noticed others on this forum have had the same issue. Can anyone help me either reinstate my code or issue me a new one? At this point with the redemption deadline fast approaching there
is a very real possibility of trading in my xbox 360 and getting nothing in return.

Sorry that you're having this issue. However, there is nothing anyone here can do to help you. You will need to continue dealing with CExchange about this issue.

 

Actually as far as I can tell CExchange hasn't helped anyone with this issue. They have helped with a missing code, but not invalid one. So far it has been someone at MS. However none of the CSR's or Billing reps I have talked to know who.

Phone support cannot help with this and I do not believe that a support member can help here either. This issue would lie directly with CE or the Microsoft Store.

 

I have the same issue. I recently traded in my 360 to receive the $100 credit towards the purchase of an Xbox One. I was stoked when I got the email with my code, and went online to the Microsoft store to buy my Xbox One, but I get a message saying "invalid
promo code". I have tried probably 50 times, hasn't worked yet. I have called the Microsoft store multiple times, they say they can't help me, and to call Cexchange. I called Cexchange, and they told me they don't do the promo codes, Microsoft does. I'm pretty
angry about this, neither Microsoft Store nor Cexchange will help me with this issue. Instead, I don't have my Xbox 360, and also don't have my $100 credit either. It sucks. I will call both again tomorrow and see if something can get figured out. I'll keep
you guys posted.

 

Just an update on the Invalid promo code situation I have experienced. I sent an email to Cexchange customer service yesterday and received a reply this morning which told me to contact the Microsoft store customer service number. I called Microsoft, and
they were very helpful. Basically, I had to send them the email I received from Cexchange with the code in it so they could verify that the code was invalid. After the guy on the phone got approval from his supervisor I was able to order my Xbox One over the
phone with my $100 off. I am pretty happy now that the situation has been resolved and looking forward to playing GTA V on Xbox One soon!

 

Glad to hear it got resolved for you. I'll try to remember this resolution if I see an issue like this again.

 

Sigh what is going on. I had the exact same problem, but I wanted a code to use for black friday bundle as the guy said you could. After three days of talking to like 20 different people I got someone higher up. He had another code sent to my email. Took
two more days and the code he sent me says Invalid code as well. You kidding me...

 

A few posts up fastjohn posted that he'd contacted the Microsoft store customer service and explained what's going on to them. They got his email and honored the code. Give that a try.

 

That's not going to work for the black friday bundle though. The guy from escalations said 100% the code will work with the black friday bundles. I don't understand how they can send me a replacement code that's invalid too. I called him back, finally got
his number. He said ok I will call you first thing in the morning with a working code and talk to you as you make sure it works. That was two days ago... =_=

 

Xbox Phone Support is not support for the Microsoft Store. Please contact them for assistance. You never know what you'll get unless you try.
