    Invalid Security Code


    When attempting to access my billing information I was prompted to confirm the security of my account. When I confirmed my e-mail address no code was sent. After an hour of waited I decided to try the alternative method which would take 30 days, after doing
    this it gave me the option to try my security information again, which I did and this time it sent a code. However, when I put the code in, it claimed it was invalid, despite the code being correct, after several failed attempt I tried again with a different
    code, which again, did not work.

    Any thoughts on this would be great.

    when you use the option "i dont have this security information anymore" you actually are deleting them and preventing access to billing or security to your account via browser for said 30days as long as you do not cancel this again - a notification is send
    to all currently setup information.

    just do it on your console, there you only need your password

  5. You might want to wait longer. Sometimes codes are not sent to your email. . This process can not be done on the console t self . If you are copying the code and pasting it . It won't work. Try typing it in instead

    Welcome to the Xbox Live Community Forums

    If you are having issues with your security code that Microsoft has sent you, could you please check out this out:
    Microsoft Account Support



    From there, you will be able to select one of the links that is relevant to your issue. Then email your case to Microsoft where they can begin to investigate the issue.

    I would also like to point out that in most cases I have come across over on the Microsoft Community. The codes have reached them a little late, meaning that they have expired. This is why I like to use my Phone when receiving the codes as they are quicker
    then email. I would recommend trying again. If it still comes up with the code been invalid, then please proceed through the link I have given you. Please allow up to 48 hours for Microsoft to reply back to you.

    Hope this helps, if you continue to face problems or have not heard back from Microsoft in 48 hours, please post back and I will try and assist further.

    Yup, he used an Amazon Gift Card to buy an Xbox Gift Card.

    I tried your suggestion, but when we tried to purchase an item to see if there was an option to buy as a gift, there was a message saying that they would send a security code to our email address. We got the security code, but the problem now is that the
    security code doesn't work. I copied & pasted the code in & I also typed it in manually, but it keeps saying that the Microsoft Security Code is invalid.

    Hi there Kerry,

    Sorry to hear you're having issues with your account.

    When you remove the security proofs from your account, it takes 30 days to add your new proofs so that we can confirm that everything is correct and ensure your account's security.

    You will not be locked out of the account but it will use the older security proofs. When requesting a security code, make sure that you don't request it multiple times right in a row as it will invalidate older codes that are sent for the newest code. You
