    Phone support is incorrect.

    If you are having an issue with another gamer then the only thing you can do is report them using the dashboard reporting tools. Go to the users bio and select File Complaint then follow the instructions.

    It wasn't the phone support, it was through the chat service. but it is about a Gamertag that is invalid on the available list of GT's to be used, but it doesn't break the terms and conditions.

    Online chat is the same as phone support unless you're speaking with an ambassador. Either way you were given incorrect information.

    Invalid Gamertag

    I was playing with my friend. An error popped up saying invalid gamertag and to download profile to fix the problem. I did and it gave me a fresh new account. I lost hundreds of dollars of games I have bought and countless hours I have played ranking up.
    My gamer tag was [Mod removed]. The account it gave me was . Please help!

    Gamertag Invalid?

    If you try to change your name to that and the system says it's taken, then it is in use somewhere on Microsoft's servers. Even if it doesn't show up as an Xbox gamertag, Microsoft uses the same tag system for other services such as Zune. The tag could also
    be spaced differently (such as "Hit man" instead) which the system would see as being the same tag).

    Delete your profile and download it again, it sounds like there may have been a corruption issue that effectively broken the link between your Xbox Live gamertag and the one stored on your console.

    Hey Caliboy, I'm afraid that if the system is telling you a Gamertag is invalid or taken, you'll simple need to select something else to use as your GT.
