Invader wouldn't die?

I was roaming around some areas hoping to get invaded so i can die (I am always hallow so when i'm done being human I enjoy the PvP till I get killed). So i ended up getting invaded at the Demon Ruins and we were having a range fight but when we went into
melee no matter what I did he took no damage, even though when we were fighting with our bows he took a good amount of damage, after we got close i locked on and used my bow to see but no damage was being done. I did see him kneel doing some type of spell
but my knowledge of dark souls is pretty much none, I just get what I need and do mainly PvE. I'm lucky to have beaten invaders lol. This encounter lasted more than 20 mintues, and throughout i was backstabbing him, beating him till i ran out of stamina, but
nothing. His health never moved.

So I'm confused is there a type of spell that makes you immune to melee attacks or was this something else?

^Well that sucks, wouldn't that mean you couldn't invade me for the same reason? Ah well, I'll just have to get the game asap and catch up!

Well Dre, as a part of the Darkmoon covenant, invading while being human wouldn't make it griefing, since you can only invade those who have sinned and need to be punished.

 

He was hacking. If it happens again, seek the nearest ledge and backstab them off of it. Always make sure to send them a message reminding them how bad of a player they are.

 

I had a guy invade me and I got him down to a sliver of health left. Right as he was about to die he took no damage from 3 hits and one shot me when he was barely doing damage before.
