The short answer, in no way official, is that component, shipping, and other infrastructure problems have caused hardware shortages across all electronics, and home work has greatly slowed games development. There are certain things like sharing game assets that are gigantic and problematic to send efficiently over a home connection rather than a fat pipe internal network

lol nice! I personally enjoy interviews for gaming. I'm kind of apart of the industry so I enjoy listening to the big guys.

They did not save the videogame industry, they saved the console industry for about 5-8 more years. This is basically the end of consoles in a traditional sense.

I work for a company in the video games industry as 3rd line IT support. Previously I attended Gamescom as on-site IT Support for the consoles on our stand and the staff located across three sites.

So it's fair to say I am affiliated with the industry, rather than "in" the industry. It does help me get free copies of some games though....and a new console now and then.
