Internettcable dont work on my new Xbox one s but works fine without it??

I just got a new xbox one s yesterday and my Internettcable dont work on it , but works fine without it?? On my old xbox one it works just fine with or witout the cable to connect to xbox live ? I have tried everyting,
but it wont connect to xbox live when i use my internettcable.. what can i do? Its just very frustrating when i only can use my old wierless internett when i have a intternettcable that i can use to download games much faster on my new xbox one s, but on
my old xbox its works fine... enyone else have this problem? What to do?

There are a few ports on a modem that have specific uses please make sure you are not plugged into one of those. When you are connected via the network cable is the Xbox negotiating and receiving an IP address? If not then its an incorrect port most
likely. Go into network settings screen to check.
