  1. Internet provided by Apartment NAT problems

I live in an apartment complex that provides internet to all the tenants via korcett/suddenlink. I have had problems with Strict NAT and even just being able to be in a party chat on my Xbox one. I did the port forwarding/triggering and that has given me
the ability to party chat and play games with friends as long as the host has an Open NAT, but mine is still strict and prevents me from playing games with friends who have moderate NAT. I've talked with my ISP and they weren't any help besides just telling
me to turn my Xbox off and on again. Is there any workaround I haven't been able to find yet?

I have a wired connection through my router, plugging directly into the wall makes it impossible to do any port forwarding since I don't have access to the apartment building's network hardware.

    Thanks

    -Jake

    :)

    Xbox Live doesn't work AGAIN

    Hi

I'm afraid you have the worst possible setup in terms of troubleshooting

You are in an unsupported country (I know you don't want to hear that but you are Internet provided by Apartment NAT problems :( )

You are in China, China is well known for its issues with Xbox live and Internet restrictions in general

You are not in control of your Internet connection (it is provided by the apartment)

    You have a strict NAT

Even if you managed to fix your NAT status and could get access to the buildings router you problem may be with your ISP I'm afraid Internet provided by Apartment NAT problems :(

NAT Strict and port UDP 3544 problem

So, how do you get Internet? Directly from an ethernet port on the wall wired to your router? Is this part of shared Internet such as for a dorm or apartment complex? Are you very sure you understood and correctly answered my question: Does the WAN/Internet
IP (NOT the LAN IP!) listed in your router's web interface match the IP reported by
Trace My IP | IP Address Tracker | IP Tracer | Computer Hardware IP Visitor Location ?

I ask these because not having a modem and your problems are both consistent with your Xbox One being behind at least 2 layers of NAT (double NAT).

It might just be that your own router is the cause to what is known as double NAT.

Could you unplug your router from the network socket on the wall and make a direct connection with your console to the network socket on the wall.

Power on your console and go to network settings. From the Alternate MAC address option, you should be able to clear your console's IP settings.

In Network settings, select Multiplayer test. When the test is finished, press and hold (simultaneously) LB+RB+LT+RT and have us know the outcome of your NAT type?

  5. Yes that's how my Xbox was connected before, it resulted in a strict NAT type along with the inability to participate in party chat and join a game hosted by a friend with Open NAT. The result of running a multiplayer test was "Cannot get a Teredo IP."

With your console directly connected to the network socket on your wall; does it obtain an IP address within any of the following ranges:

    10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255

    172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255

    192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255

Regarding the Teredo address; you would have to contact the personnel responsible for managing the networking equipment in your apartment complex and have them know about your situation.

Teredo tunnel uses port 3544 over UDP.

To secure the tunnel; IPSec is being used, which negotiate IKE on UDP port 500. For IPSec NAT-T; port 4500 over UDP is being used.

If there's an DHCP server on the other end of your network socket on the wall, then make sure they provide your console's IP as static, which should also match the very same address on your console, along with subnet mask and default gateway. Type of DNS
    server is often optional.

You should be able to configure the RT-N10 as a wireless AP, without DHCP/NAT involvment, and with the LAN ports function as switchports, or access ports.

  7. Thanks for all the info. The apartment complex isn't willing to work with me on accessing the network equipment or getting in touch with the personell that do, so I guess that's the end of it.
