Internet ok but no Xbox Live

My Xbox one s can see my internet and says I’m connected to the internet but won’t connect to Xbox live. The most recent update failed. I tried cycling (power button five seconds, unplug 30 seconds) but no luck. I have two Xbox one s and they are
both doing the same thing.

Thanks for reaching out!

Since you're being affected on more than one console I would first try rebooting your internet modem / router.

Then, it sounds like your Xbox(es) might need a good refreshing.. and a factory reset to reestablish connection to

your network and Xbox Live servers (and updates).

Before we try that we have to make sure you know your Microsoft email and password bc you'll need to

redownload your profile back onto the Xbox and reconnect to your network.

Afterwards go through the initial set up for your Xbox..

Once you've completed the process .. Let us know if it works!

So i tried resetting and i cant update. It connects to the internet and then says this:





When i checked the network connection, it said it was connected to the internet and went through the same process again. Ive reset modem and router, but everything else can use the wifi and as i said, the consoles both recognize they are connected to the
internet until i try to do anything like update or connect to xbox live.

We understand this situation can be frustrating and want to help as best as we can. We know the Reset did not work, but I do have a side question. Does the console work with a wired connection/ethernet cable?
