internet lag

What can I do if it says i am strong when checking my online thru the xbox connection test only to be chopping across the screen or putting 50 bullets in someone and not even shoot in the death replay it is annoying to not know why my online is acting up
, Is there a way to get the green, yellow, and red to show your connection in the game ? it is only ghosts too, black ops works fine but ghosts will only go 2 games before booting me for connection problems

Fix The Lag

All I hear now days is lag lag lag, lag this lag that and nobody does anything on their part to fix it. How do you know its not you? Have you checked your internet connection strength? What type of internet service are you using?

 

Streaming interrupted

Streaming lag became such a problem for us that we quit streaming, too. We're on the highest speed of internet we can possibly afford and also have the best equipment we can afford. We *still* had lag -- frequently -- so we just gave up.

 

Do you mean 'Strict', as in Strict NAT?

Your NAT type does not directly cause lag in games, although having it Open is ideal. It sounds as though you're getting unlucky with the Host selection or someone is using your network to me.

 

yes it is open learned that headache a few years back when i switched to fios

 

Are there many people and devices in your household that are using the net while you are gaming?

 

1. What is your DL/UL speed?
2. What time of day do you play?
3. Who else uses your internet?
4. Do you live in a heavily populated area or out in the middle of no where?
5. Where does the host live in relation to you?

There are many reasons you could be experiencing lag. I only lag at certain times at night or if the game picked a wonky host.
