Internet is working but not my Xbox Live

I am trying to connect to my xbox live but it says there is a problem with my connection. I found it doubtful as my Internet was working. But I still unplugged both my modem and router and waited to see if the problem could be fixed this way, but to no avail.
I wondered if the problem was the Xbox one and not my router, so I turned on my Xbox 360 and to my shock it was capable of accessing xbox live. This is kind of annoying as I wish to play my xbox one games not 360, so please may I receive any help on this matter.

i can connect to internet but not xbox live

my internet connection is working but when it goes to xbox live it say your xbox live is not working

Xbox live not working?!

My problem is more xbox getting connected to internet but not xbox live. Games getting updated but xbox live not working.

Hey mate,

Firstly, try and power cycle your console. You can do this by firstly having the console on, then holding down the power button for 10seconds until the console turns off. Wait for a minute or two, then turn it back on and check again. It can take a couple
of minutes for the console to connect to Live again, so give it a few minutes and it should hopefully reconnect.

If not, I'd have a look through the following link, which has some troubleshooting steps on your network settings. This should hopefully help

i have time warner cable internet and my xbox live connection isnt working. My home wireless and ethernet work perfectly, but whenever i try to connect my Xbox to live, it says that i am connected to the internet, but that it cant connect to xbox live

I cannot get signed on to Xbox live at all. It just keeps directing me to my settings, my internet works, I am connected to the internet but it won't connect with xbox live

So if Games for Windows Live works with my internet connection that doesn't necessarily mean that Xbox Live will work as well?
