    Internet explorer lock

So earlier I was watching adventure time on Internet explorer when the app froze and force shut down. When I opened it back up all my tabs had closed (like it had reset) so I went to recent and opened up what I had been watching and went to the next episode.
When I clicked it opened up another page, one of the stupid popups, which the xbox one registered as malware and it stopped me from going there and opened up a warning. Whenever I tried to close the warning using B or clicking close it pops up again and again
and again endlessly. I then tried quitting Internet explorer, and reseting my xbox. This didnt work so I contacted xbox support and they had me clear the persistent cache and hard reset and then deleting my profile and doing the previous mentioned things again.
None of this worked. They eventually asked me to try opening ports which has nothing to do with my problem. Is there a way to actually reset Internet explorer? I need some ideas. The only other thing I can think of is factory restoring but that deletes all
of my stuff. You know several hundred gigs worth. Please help anyone

    :)

It supports HTML5 and there's the YouTube app. You can watch videos just fine.

Sorry to hear it. However, it seems as though a factory reset may be in order.

If you don't already have one, why not get a USB 3.0 storage device for your console. You can attach an external hard drive ranging in size from 256GB to 16TB to store your game downloads on. Just move them over, unplug the hard drive and then factory
restore the console. Then plug the hard drive back in and redownload your profile.

I had the same issue happen to me a couple of months ago, i figured a solution & i hope it helps anyone that is having this problem. STEP 1 go to settings, STEP 2 go to privacy & online safety, STEP 3 scroll to the right were it say's web filtering, STEP
4 change the web filtering to allow list only, STEP 5 open up the internet explorer app it should block the bugged web page, press start button & close the tab & delete your browsing history. Go back to your settings & change your web filtering back to your
normal settings. It should work fine after you follow these steps, if it happens again repeat the same steps & you should be fine. Hope this help's anyone having this issue.

I have the same issue. The bugged page and popup instructed me to call Windows support. Says there is malware infecting the system. Windows support directed me back to XBox suport. Option to delete Internet Explorer app had been removed. Had already
been haaving other issues with my console. In surround sond mode the foreground audio track had inexplicably stoped working. We had moved and the surround sound had not yet been connected. even after properly hooking it up it still played no forground sound.
It was if everyone wase inaudibly whispering. All other sounds worked just fine. Effected all surround sound media. Games, streaming, movies' ect. I then made a service request through the XBox website. That was in November 2014. Out of the box it kept
dissconecting from my cable provider constantly asking me to check my "firm" HDMI connection. After having ny cable provider send out numerrious service techs, I finally connected my cable box directly to my TV, sacrfycing 1 HDMI port which ment 1 HDMI
device had to go. I had since discivered switcing my console output to stereo 2.0, I could at least hear all intended audio. Aside from the constant hanging and force closing of games and apps, the console functioned pretty decently. Since I didn't have
a shipping box handy, and I was instructed not to use the orginal retail box, I desided to hold off on shipping my machine in for repair. Fast forward to the malware issue March 2015, it seemed to only effect my profile. Worked fine on my families profiles.
I decided to go ahead and pay $40+ to ship my console out for repair. The warranty expired Feburary 2015 so I had to find the email with the original service request from November 2014. With my XBox One out for repair I decided to complete some of my Games
for Gold on my 7th XBox 360. I used the IE app to continue reserving free games for my now shipped XBox one. It redirects an sends me ti the same malware page with a similar inescapable popup. This time with an audible alarm. I go to delete the IE app
and it seems to do nothing. I power cycle and the same result. I emediately call tech support thinking "Really!? My 360 to!?" He has me delete the cache 3 times and relaunch the app. It has to redoenload. Apparently it did delete. Just diddn't appear
so. When I finally relaunched, it opened the hub as normal but didn't redirect to the instructional page. But otherwise functined normally. I've only used it sparingly since then but I haven't yet had any major issues. (Besides the occasional hang forcing
a tedious manual power cycle) Hope my XBox One is as lucky. It's been almost a week and still no order update on the site. Not even a "we received it" note.
