internet error

so i have an original 360 that i'm trying to connect to live.i have my wireless adapter plugged in ( the one with one antennae) it has a green light so i know its connected and working properly. i can find my wireless network and connect to it but i cannot
connect to the internet i keep getting internet error. i have tried all the trouble shoots from the website and nothing seems to work any suggestions or have any of you guys overcome this problem and if so how?

I've been having some problems with that internet connection error, too, but honestly, I don't know how I feel about disabling the firewall and/or security features of the router. I hope they release a patch soon that will fix the problem.

 

Can I use a N64 controller for original Xbox?

I won't say it's impossible, but it'd be quite difficult.You'd have to run trial-and-error and it still may not work.
A third party controller will probably be easier than a regular N64.

As someone previously said, check around the internet and other forums.

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. What is the exact error message you get when trying to connect? Usually, the Xbox will give you suggestions on how to fix the issue. Would you mind giving us the first suggestion?

Hi there!

Can I ask whether your wireless network has a password on it? When you connect nowadays, most have wifi passwords. It may be worth looking into this, or consider using a wired connection, to make sure your console and content is up to date.

Have you tried clearing the cache on the 360 and checked to make sure your subscription to gold is still active?

 

Lots of great advice here but i'd like to add that going wired if you can is your best option. The wireless for an older console may be tricky sometimes and a wired connection should work great.

 

it literally says internet error ive tried my mobile hotspot as well as a few others ive tried optimum which doesnt even connect to the network the mobile hotspots connect to the network but not the internet

Hello Dutch,

Have you tried restoring the network to default then try and connect again. To do so go to Settings>System>Network settings>then choose connection>configure network>additional settings>restore to factory default.
