Internet Error testing Live Connection

Hello my son just asked me to set up his XBOX 360 Live account but after Testing the XBOX live connection it is connecting to the network but not the internet. Numerous other devices are connected and having no dramas accessing the internet. I have done
all the troubleshooting at XBOX.com but have had no joy. This is the status error report I am getting

Getting Error code unrecognized by XBox Support (3CD6-416B-A080-1200-D000-0034) when downloading update

Some extra information: Testing the Xbox live connection calls for an update after connection to the internet has been verified. Trying to download this update yields the same error (3CD6-416B-A080-1200-D000-0034)

 

My console won't connect to the internet.

Firstly I would like to thank you all for your feedback. To MaximumExtereme, when I test my Xbox Live connection I get an internet error, meaning that my console identifies the network but cannot connect to the internet. To Valkyrie210 as I mentioned I'm
getting an internet error, not an Xbox Live error when I'm testing my connection. I should have mentioned earlier that I'm using an Xbox 360 Slim wired to my modem/router, so I don't need an adapter.

 

Okay so I have had an unproductive 6 hours today trying to fix this problem. Went through the online Troubleshooter twice just to make sure. Then I tried to contact someone in Microsoft customer support chat that link doesn't work.

Next I try to chat with a community ambassador his reply was **** That! lodged a complaint not that I expect anything will come of it as it would seem that noone seems to care. So I go online and find a phone number for support. This will be good
someone that I can actually talk to. After being on hold for 20 minutes. I get to speak to this woman who I then tell that I have tried the trouble shooter twice can she help me she says yes. Then proceeds to walk me through everything that I have already
done twice today. Then says i need to contact my service provider as it is their fault. I say that our Teenage son just left this year and he had no problems using his XBOX Live so it cant be that she then says that the phone is cutting out and hangs up.
