    Internet drops wired and wireless what can i do


    My internet wired or wireless network keep losing broadband but only for my Xbox one online gaming . There's 2 phones a tablet and my console . My isp came out and tried to find out what the problem is but with no success so now I'm thinking it's my console
    . Moments after I start a online game Battlefield1 I'll freeze return to the screen where it ask me to go online then my broadband and service light starts blinking . Had the box replace so now I'm at square 1 please help

    Best internet connection for new X1

    I am hoping to have my new X1 delivered tomorrow, what are thoughts regarding internet connection, Wired direct to console or Wireless, I can do either easily,

    MacBox doesn't work (latency)

    The main issue I see is your latency. 191 or 200ms is high for an internet connection. I would use a wired connection instead of wireless and see if it drops your latency down to at least 100ms. To me your xbox has wireless interference somewhere in the
    location it's in.

    Sorry to hear about the network performance. Let's check a few things to narrow this down. Does the issue persist when using both wired or wireless network connections on the console after your ISP replaced the Modem?



    Run a Detailed Network Statistics test on the Xbox One console and please provide the following information.

    • Download Speed
    • Upload Speed
    • Latency
    • Packet Loss %
    • Wireless Strength (if applicable)
    • Modem Manufacturer
    • Router Manufacturer (if being used) as well as the model number

    That information will help us determine the next best steps. Thanks!

    What type of internet connection are you using? Wired or Wireless? If you’re using a wireless connection I would recommend trying to do the update with a wired connection instead and see if your still running into the same issue.

    ^^I failed to mention that I am on a wired connection myself. Everyone (or most everyone) seems to think that wireless tech has advanced to the point that there is little to no difference between wireless and wired connections. I disagree completely... the
    connection speed itself may not be as much of a concern with newer routers, but there are a myriad of other potential problems that can happen with wireless. And they can all cause failed, dropped, random, intermittent connections.

    Besides, with all the other wireless devices out there that need internet access, I decided it would be worth the extra trouble of putting the Xbox on the wired side of the network... more bandwidth since there are much fewer devices on the wired side, AND
    stability that way. Win-win.
