Internet connection sharing between a VPN laptop and an xbox one

Hello readers. My situation is, I want to connect my laptop that has VPN enabled on it to my Xbox via an ethernet cable.

Basically its Xbox one > ethernet cable> Laptop with VPN activated on it> ethernet cable from laptop> router.

Guides online have said to use internet connection sharing. My presumption is that my laptop's VPN will be shared to my Xbox.

I did all this and after sharing the connection, the Xbox is unable to connect to Xbox live. The VPN works just normally on the laptop. But the Xbox cannot connect to the internet. I'm using a free VPN service first called windscribe. If I can get this to
work, I will probably upgrade to a more recognized VPN.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Is there a setting on the computer, or do I have to adjust something on the Xbox. I have tried manually inputting IP addresses on the Xbox and gateways etc..., but none of that works.

PS: The only reason I am doing this is because I bought overwatch on Xbox for about SGD76 and I realized I can't play any matches because servers in my region are dead. There are not enough players to consistently play matches. I have waited an hour before
just to NOT play a match. People have said that VPN is the only hope left to switch to US servers so I can at least play some games. All this to just play overwatch.

live in syria same problem from about 28/5/2012 i found a solution but it didn't work for me you can connect the xbox 360 to your pc/laptop then run a vpn program and then go to network and sharing center go to your networks and share your internet connection
with the xbox i could connect to internet but not xbox live that means it got the internet but not the vpn maby someone can find something out of this try

This would depend on the type of VPN service you are using, as sharing your network may not actually share the VPN connection.

To enable Internet Connection Sharing in Windows 10, please follow the steps below: Press Windows key
+ X to open the Power User menu and select NetworkConnections. Right-click the network adapter with an Internet connection (Ethernetor
wireless network adapter), then select Properties. Click Sharing.

Then you will need to type in the details of the windows sharing connection in the Xbox. As you will not connect to the router but your windows 10 PC to access the internet now.

 

Could you tell me more on the information i need to type onto the xbox? Since you said that my console is connecting via my PC instead of my router.

 

Also, which VPN is more suitable and recommended for use with with an xbox one in terms of how easy it is to integrate. Thanks.
