internet connection required for 360?

ill start off by saying im one of the people that does not have internet access where i live, and ive always been able to use my 360 just fine, every once in a while i take it to my friends house(40 miles away) to get updates and dlc, so i just got the latest
update and now after the power is unplugged and you turn it on it is requiring me to sign into live just to be able to play offline, so while im at home i cannot play any games because i have no internet to connect to live. i contacted xbox support and they
said i have to have a constant internet connection to use my xbox offline which is bs

i already tried lb rb x lb rb x to remove the update but that didn't work, so how should i resolve this? please help

It is my understanding that an internet connection is required out of the box, otherwise the console will not work.

Whether they change this for later released models is another matter,

as far as I know only the indie games require it as they are not rated but all your others should play offline as well. I have a friend that up until this year never had ANY internet access (not even for PC) and he had no issues playing his 360 offline
and would take it to my place if he needed any updates for it.

yeah ive been doing the same thing and when i got the newest update and went home is when this started ive never had this problem before

[/quote]An internet connection is not required on the 360. Someone can still play it even if they never connected to the internet. The same cannot be said of the new xbox.

Xbox 360 (backwards compatible) games require an internet connection to be loaded to the xbox one due to the emulator.

While you can use the Xbox One console offline, many of the features of it require an internet connection. I believe initial setup requires one as well. You can set it to allow you to game offline, but have to be connected to Live to change it. I honestly
would recommend sticking with a 360 while you don't have internet.
