Internet connection limited after plugging xbox one

Hello,

I bought the xbob one yesterday. I tried to connect it to the xbox live. I had the 'DNS' error message. Then I checked my internet connection on my computer, smartphone, etc... it was not working anymore. It is obviously due to connecting the Xbox one since
it was working very well the second before.

My internet connection is 'limited' now and I do not have access to internet anymore.

I previously had a Xbox 360 and everything was working fine. Now if I connect my xbox360 it does not work anymore.

I guess the issue is with the DNS settings but I do not understand how connectiong my new Xboxone can actually 'break' my internet connection.

Can I Direct Connect XboxOne to TV?

I just moved and we don't have cable or internet yet so I want to use my Xbox One to watch Blu-rays and play games offline. Can I connect my Xbox one directly to the TV via HDMI? Because I'm trying now and it doesn't seem to work.Click to expand...

Na you cant connect your xbox one directly to a tv via hdmi. You have to first connect it to a toaster than plug the toaster into a receiver. Then the xbox one will only work after plugging your cables hdmi into xbox "hdmi in" port.

Would I be able to use an Xbox One with NO internet connection?

Player, I'm a new xbox one owner, also on a limited internet connection, the intital update for me was around 500mb. after that i was able to play sunset overdrive without an internet connection. There are games that require an internet connection to play
such as destiny.

@badbax23 what i've learned you have to go into your network settings and select "go offline" or everytime you launch a game it will ask you to log into your xbox live account. kinda annoying but i haven't had trouble with it.

Hello!

I noticed in a comment that one will disconnect after one connects. This has nothing to do with you Xbox 360. This means that your internet provider has a limit on how many devices you may use. If you do not believe this applies, here is how to test it out.

1) Make sure both consoles are disconnected from the internet.

2) Have all the devices you normally have connected, connected

3) Have a friend, or someone, have a wireless device over to your house (it may be phone, laptop, etc)

4) Connect that device, then try connecting a console

This will see if you are one short of your limit, and the one console is just reaching the limit

After trying many things I have found out my Xbox One only keeps shutting down when it is connected to the internet, if I plug in the internet cable or connect using wi-fi it will shut almost immediately, but when it is disconnected from the internet it
will stay on all day....weird.

Hello I am sorry you are having internet problems with your one xbox? Are both of your xboxs connected to the internet in the same manner? (i.e. wirelessly, wired, distance from modem,etc.) Many things can cause one system to have stronger internet connection
than the other. d

My suggestion would be to plug your xbox directly into your modem and make sure it can connect to the internet through the wire. Than after unplugging it try it wirelessly again, and see if it picks it up. A hard restart of the xbox has also worked for me
in the past when somehow my xbox isn't reading a connection. Turn of the xbox, unplug your power cord, wait 60 seconds plug it back in and turn your xbox back on.

Sounds like you need a computer with 2 network ports. Plug one into the internet of your apartment. Plug your xbox into the second. Do the client confirmation through the computer. after that is done, go to network settings and link the 2 network ports where
the internet passes through your computer to the xbox. Here is a simple set of instructions for you that should help you out.
