  1. Internal Xbox one hard drive

Hello all, I have a very strange question and was wondering if anybody else has tried this or has figured this out before. I have a first generation Xbox one that stopped working recently and I’m trying to figure out if I can use the internal hard drive, that is built into the Xbox as an external hard drive for the new Xbox that I purchased. Is this something that I can do so I can for one :expand the memory of my new Xbox, and two :so I won’t have to re-download all of the games that’s already on my old Xbox. Please if anybody can let me know if there is a way for me to get some connections to use it as an external hard drive or if this is something that isn’t possible.

    :)

    hard drive

As an idea for xbox one hard drives because they are internal and not external try plugging in an external drive to save or transfer all important games to external hard drive and leave not so important games onto internal drive
that way you can take them anywhere and not have hard drive failures with xbox one.

Hey Homely, what voteDC is referring to is the internal hard drive requirement for Xbox Originals. Some consoles come with flash memory built in, but no hard drive; examples of these consoles would be the old Arcade models, or the newer Xbox 360 S with 4GB
Internal Flash. Unfortunately, the internal flash does not qualify as an internal hard drive, so if you have one of these models and want to play Xbox Originals, you'll need to purchase and install a hard drive.

Can't play certain game types in Halo Reach

You need the 250GB hard drive rather than the internal one. The internal one is only flash memory rather than a proper hard drive.

XBOX 360 E CONSOLE WON'T DETECT NEW DRIVE

Hi, an Xbox internal hardrive has to have a specific boot sector for the Xbox to see it ( that boot sector would contain all the information the Xbox needs to enable it to be used as an internal Xbox hard drive such as drive size, whether it's an official
hard drive etc ) an external hard drive is another matter totally, external drives work differently but some games do require you to have an internal hard drive but that's a whole other subject.

Where we're getting out wires crossed is that in order to have an internal hard drive other than an official hard drive to work you'd have to somehow modify the boot sector of the unofficial hard drive to something the Xbox can see ( for example the Xbox
sees the hard drive and gets the info that it's a hard drive suitable for use as an internal Xbox hard drive yadda yadda )

With that said, if you just put any old regular hard drive into the internal hard drive bay on your Xbox it's just not going to work at all.

you need to save all again in the internal hard drive put the new one and go to settings to format the drive internally on the Xbox if not be functional that way you need to used like external drive,

But try format the drive first when is internal on the xbox
