    Internal drive dilemma

    Hello Internal drive dilemma :)

So today I went to local game store to get a game I have waited long to play - Dragon age: Inquisition. Little did i know it needed Hard drive for i did not read the fine print. I was using external drive (32 usb stick) to play 2 disc games. Now im not sure
which Xbox i own, is it slim or not and so on. Here is the link to the product i bought:

    http://www.bigbang.si/igralne-konzole/xbox360e-4gb-microsoft-564924
. It is in foreign language but i hope you guys will be able to determine which version/model it is. So i am planning to get a HDD but i do not know which are compatible with my console.
I was looking at this one:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-120GB-120G-HDD-Slim-XBOX360-Xbox-360-Hard-Drive-Internal-Disk-UK-Shipping-/131117651699?pt=Video_Games_Hard_Drives&hash=item1e873896f3
would this work? If not, can you give me some directions please?

Thank you very much for your help Internal drive dilemma :)

    :)

Weird Question About Xbox One Internal/External Hard Drives/Console Itself From People In The Know

    Hi Jon,

The Internal Hard drive for your Xbox One is more secure than the External drive you use to host content. As it stands there is no way to move the personal data from the internal drive to the External hard drive and have it persist and comply with security standards. Best use case would be to store your games and installs on your external . Your game save files are automatically backed up to the Xbox Live Cloud Service.

To setup the external hard drive you simply plug in a compliant 3.0 usb harddrive. The xbox will proceed to format the drive and make it ready for use. Note that after this process the drive cannot be used dual purpose.

Weird Question About Xbox One Internal/External Hard Drives/Console Itself From People In The Know

Couldn't think of any other sites other than IGN, Gamespot, etc.. I just know, since this is a games site, there'll be some people who know about this sort of thing. I hope this is the right place to post this. Anyway...

I finally got my hands on the Xbox One. Now, I haven't used the thing yet. My question here is one of security and save data preservation that just so happens to involve the internal HDD, among other things.

My plan is to use an external Drive of some sort only, and completely ignore the internal one altogether. This is because, if something happens and I must get a repair to the Xbox One, sending the console for repair is the only worry for me; I'm thinking data on the Hard Drive, which includes personal details, as well as save files I'd rather not lose, will be on the external Drive, while the internal is clear of any of this. I'd hate to at some point get a repair done, but also have some corrupt employee of some place take all the info off of the internal Drive for their own corrupt purposes.
I know it's paranoia, but I've heard some stories about shady people getting their hands on gamertags, etc., and selling them online. This also makes me wonder; does the actual console itself (not including internal/external Drive) contain data of any kind that could be dangerous if someone gets their hands on it?

Oh, before I forget, how exactly does the whole setup process for the Xbox One go; what I mean is can I just attach an external Drive and have that be the Drive I use for everything? I'd hate to try and be all clean and safe, and then some default setting, that's unchangeable by someone like me, ends up saving sensitive details to the internal Drive. Basically, what I'm asking for this particular paragraph is is the internal Drive absolutely necessary for anything at all that externals can't be used for? is the internal Drive the default location for anything that the external can't be used for? If it were up to me, I'd just take the internal out, but that voids any warranty, which creates a possible dilemma for me.

The console you have is a Slim. The hard drive on ebay looks like a Slim hard drive but there were no 120gb hard drives made for the Slim so I would suggest not purchasing that one. Most hard drives on ebay are knock offs.

    Thanks for your reply.

I found a local seller with offical xbox disks at a good price. My console wasn't modified in any way. If i get the offical 250GB disk, will it be as simple as plugging it in or do i have to do any other software/hardware work?

    xbox1 s June update

    Hi

I think XxnickxX may well have solved my dilemma, it could be a bug in external hard drive and not Microsoft update.

    Thank you.

XBox 360 reports 2.9 GB HDD free but says no room to install game

Is this an internal flash drive or an actual hard drive?

Some games require an actual hard drive & wont install on the internal flash drive.
