Intermittently not being able to hear person in a party and them not being able to hear me.

I have been trying to resolve this problem for my son (11). I am basically computer/video stupid and really need help in a simple form. Since December 20th my son has had problems in a party. He cannot hear the other people and they cannot hear him. This
does not happen all the time, however, most of the time. We have tried all basic trouble shooting. We have tried opening ports.....worked short time.....got a new router....worked when first tried, later in day did not.....tried hardwiring the xbox to the
router...worked for a short time, stopped, started, stopped and stayed stopped....tried a range extender.....has a stronger signal but still cannot resolve the party connection issue. We also took off all wiring to a game chair and a headset and tried everything
through the Kinect and that also works intermittently. Please help.

Part chat, individual, volume control for each person in party.

Could there be a feature added to the party chat for Xbox one, that will innovate the volume controls in party chats? I'm suggesting a feature that allows oneself to control the volume of each individual in said party. Defeating the problem of not being
able to hear, or be heard by anybody in the party. Making parties with greater quantities less confusing, yet, still being able to hear the entire party. Would this not make a more reasonable setting than only being able to only mute individual people in party
chat?

I also am always in a party just for the purpose of not being able to hear the ingame chat.

It really sound like your NAT type (don't worry you don't need to know what it is. Just know that there are 3 status', strict, moderate and open. Open is the setting you want on.

Now sounds like the router must be switching NAT settings hence why it sometimes works when you make changes to the router (hardwiring, new routers etc.) Follow the steps below:

Go to system settings > then network settings > then depending on whether you are wired or wireless select test xbox live connection > wait for it to finish > then check you NAT (you can use Call of Duty games for this as they always say you NAT type at
the bottom of the screens) > if its not changed carry out the procedure again then check again. If that doesn't work turn the router off for 30 seconds then retry the whole procedure.

Honestly works for me everytime.

How are you?

Hard reset your headset, clear your console's MAC and also check that the middle bar in the chat mixer isn't all the way to the right. After doing all the steps, join a party chat and see if your friend can hear you and if you can hear the sound of the games.

To perform a hard reset of the headset:

Plug the USB-C cable into the headset and position yourself next to your console, Windows 10 device, or a power outlet with a USB connection (do not plug the other end of the USB-C cable into the console, PC, or outlet yet).

Hold down the headset’s power button and the mute button simultaneously (both buttons are located on the left earcup), and then quickly plug the USB-C cable into your console, PC, or outlet.

If the hard reset is successful, the headset should power off.

Turn the headset back on. (If you continue to hold down the power button throughout the hard reset process, the headset will power off and then power back on.)

Note If you hear a tone and the headset’s power light rapidly flickers orange and white, it means you have cleared the headset’s pairing info and not triggered a hard reset. If this happens, try the steps above again.

Clean your console's MAC

Network Settings> Advanced Settings> MAC Address and Clear.

I am having the same problem. Combine this with my Turtle Beach X32s not being able to hear my party issues and it just becomes frustrating.
