Intermittent lag spikes while Xbox game streaming to PC

Those are both fair points. There's an icon on the app that once you press it, shows telemetry of your stream. Look for corresponding spikes in the graph with lag spikes while playing.

Streaming takes huge bandwidth so it's hard to rule that out without the test you suggested. Go ahead and try it and if it doesn't work (even if it does), report back and we'll continue working on it.

 

Will do. Any chance the graph is exportable so you can see the time played all at once or is it at least customize-able ? Currently the time displayed on the graph is only a few seconds which makes it pretty unusable or helpful. It is also pretty normal
to only be using a few mb on one section but be using 15 mb on another later.

 

I have a similar problem and it has developped only in the last couple of months. I have a gigabit Netgear switch (64 port), cat 6 cabling, and an Asus RT87 router. My PCs are wired connections as is my Xbox One. I can stream HD video round the house
with no problem at all. I do run Bitdefender and was wondering if this might be the issue. I have tested on 2 PCs - one running W10 and one running W10 anniversary. Even on medium quality the stream will work fine for a bit and then drop out.

whackers1: I know that many anti-viruses software causes issue with the streaming. You could try disabling Bitdefender to see if it gets better.

Hi whackers, I am curious on what you might find as well. I have read that, as ScantilyCloud mentions, anti-virus could be interfering with the stream. Also mentioned was making sure IPv6 is enabled on your router, etc. For me, the problem is present
with windows defender's real-time protection on or off, but I know that has caused other people problems recently as well with the app crashes. Please share what you find, hopefully we can figure it out.

 

This is on the windows update. This problem was created with the update prior to September 13th. September 20th fixed it. And the September 29th update has recreated it. I have streamed very high quality for months and never had a problem. The anniversary
update started causing some issues but they patched it and it was fine. September 29th they brought the issue back again.

MS, if it's my network (which it absolutely is not after checking router firmware, resetting the router completely, running tests on multiple data streams across the network (more robust than game stream at very high encode level even) why does it work fine
for months, break DIRECTLY after updating, get fixed DIRECTLY after updating, then break again DIRECTLY after updating? Could it be a coincidence? Sure. Should we troubleshoot our own networks first? Yes. But many of us are coming here as a last resort
not a first try at a solution. Please just say you're sorry and fix it. Thank you.

Short rant: I LOVE when companies create issues with buggy software and then point the finger at us. Is it possible even probable most of the time? Sure. but after a trend it becomes readily apparent it is not on us can you please just admit fault and
fix it? Just saying sorry we messed up is enough for me to be far less angry.
