Intermittent disconnecting from xbox live

Has anyone had this problem? I am intermittently being disconnected from Xbox in-game and even on the Xbox home page when idle.

When I am disconnected in-game, generally when it is searching for a new host and the game has placed us back in lobby, or after a game and while still in lobby and occasionally during gameplay. I am generally the only one removed from the game.

I have an Xbox 360, a new ISP (cable) provider and have tried 2 different new cable modems, with initial support from ISP and followup from both modem companies.

also as a test, I also still have access to a DSL ISP which encounters no connection issues, at startup or in game. (this leads me to believe there is nothing wrong with the xbox) I swapped to cable because it is significantly faster in my area (3X down
and 10X up)

My connection speed is 50+ down, 10+ up and < 50 ping, hard wired. I am on the US east coast and choose a test server 200+miles downstream.

At startup, I connect to Xbox live with no problems with an open NAT.

The modem / routers I tried are a motorola SBG 6580, and a Zoom 5352. (both out of the box new)

I have tried out of the box settings, and I have setup the modems according to the tech's from the modem companies, and I have tried multiple variations (DMZ, port forward, port trigger, MAC pass through…..) on my own. Not getting much game time in, but
learning all kinds of new modem terminology over the last several weeks.

I have rebooted, reset the modems to factory defaults and cleared the cache on the xbox numerous times between setting changes.

Any thoughts and/or solutions would be appreciated.

Hey there drinkurmilk!

Are you able to try a different game that doesn't involve a connection that goes through the EA servers and tell us if you experiencing the same frequent disconnections from Xbox LIVE.

If its possible, try use a wired connection (Ethernet cable) with your console. This allow us to get a clearer view if this just reflects on your wireless connection or if its affects the wired connection type as well.
