Intermittent disc reader problems, will it ever get fixed!?!?!?

I've had intermittent problems with my disc reader since I got Titanfall. I can usually get a game to run after removing the disc and putting it back in or doing a hard reboot. Is there any permanent solution to this issue? My only real concern is if
it's this finicky now what is it going to be like in two years. I paid a lot for this system and expect the disc reader to work.

My xbox one won't read discs.

Well...eventually it works after putting the game in and taking it out and putting it in for 10x. There is no reading error, it just says "insert disc" and the disc reader will only sometimes make minor sounds. I tried the hard reset thing and the problem still persists. Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix it? Or do I have no choice but to send it back to MS?

Fixing the disc drive reader?

My xbox has not been reading any discs, so I can't play games or watch movies. I took apart the Xbox to move the reader forward because it was stuck. It worked for a day, but now it is back to not working properly. Should I buy a new reader or replace the box with the disc drive in it?

Hey there, do you still get disc read issues after power cycling the console? Instructions here:

If that's what you were referring to by hard reboot (just checking), and it persists, then you could consider putting in a repair order, but if it's not urgent, perhaps wait it out.

Thanks for the link. I did the hard reboot, but I don't think I waited 30 seconds.I'll try that. If that doesn't work I'll put in a repair order. Where do I do that?

I have those issues. I spent 2 hours with MS support through the chat feature. He finally told me they will have to repair my xbox. Being sent for repair now.

I would call Customer Support and see what they say for you. It will only get worse. At first it was once in a while for me, now I can't play games or watch blu ray movies. It will only play DVD.

Got it! It means that there is already a problem with the disc reader of the console since this is now happening to all your games. Unfortunately, when it comes to hardware issue, your console would already need repair if you still want to have the disc reader fixed.
